Friday was a bit of a rollercoaster first losing some bigger bets to recover from it back to the green as my main bet of the day ended up a winner. In the last match though I went down again for an overall minor loss of -0.3 units with 4 more matches to go on Saturday before the Winter Break. So Let's go...
Antwerp vs Zulte-Waregem
These are teams with opposite momentum. After a really poor start of the season, Antwerp now has gone on a crazy winning streak after they got a new coach combined with the fact that some key players returned and they now have an extra tribune creating a real home advantage. the question is how long this will continue as they certainly also had luck on their side while their playerbase at its core still is not good enough with few substitution options. Zulte Started the season running very hot above xg but lately have not been able to get much going aside from a lot of draws. So purely on momentum, Antwerp is always the way to go. I expect Antwerp to come out with high enthusiasm pushed by their fans again while Zulte might want to come out with an eye to survive early on and maybe get their chances on the counters. I took 0.18 units on
Antwerp 1st Half -0.25 @ 2.041 along with 0.125 units on
Antwerp 1st Half -0.5 Corners @ 1.810. I don't see Zulte-Waregem unable to score and am also leaning toward their team tota Over 0.75 once odds hit 1.80+ or Both To Score. Should be potentially some opportunities to get more in live.
La Louviere vs OH Leuven
This is a match that has 0-0 score written all over as both are under teams who don't take much risk while they are in a similar spot inside the playdowns. The fear to lose might be bigger for both teams than the will to win. OHL had a total off day playing really poorly at home against Cercle in the 1st half and their own fans were booing them. They played better in the 2nd as Cercle crawled back but still were unable to create enough. I do see today as some kind of revenge spot but at the same time it won't be easy as the artificial pits doesn't work in their favor. La Louviere lost with 2-1 from Westerlo but deserved more actually. At the same time they had once again a hard time to score which is their main problem. I took tiny initial bets of 0.12 units on
1st Half Under 0.75 @ 2.08 & 0.03 units on Correct Score 0.0 @ 7.823 purely as 'winners' but not so much as value as they are adjusted to what is expected. If OHL +0.25 would go to 1.80+, I likely would take some on that also. Mechelen has dropped their
Mechelen vs Dender
Mechelen last week lost deserved from stvv in a boring 1-0 match. The week before they really ran above their xg winning away with 1-3 against Cercle Brugge who gave it away. The week before they were ok with a 1-0 win over Charleroi where at the same time they looked not good enough when facing better opponents. They are still inside playoff 1 right now but have a history of missing out and I expect this to happen once again this year. Dender used to be dead last but now they are alive last even though they still need to start taking some wins. They managed to increase their xg created but at the same time are last in the xg agains over the past 4 weeks with an average of 2.34. The way I see it, the away win would not be a major surprise but it's overly calculated into the odds as Mechelen on the win gets over 2.0+ odds. I do expect a match where Mechelen will start with a lot of energy and intentions to play forward. I took 0.28 units on
Kv Mechelen 1H -0.25 @ 2.136 along with 0.16 units on
KV Mechelen 1st Half -0.5 Corners @ 1.934. Mechelen in the 1st half standings is actually in 1st place while Dender is 3rd last. Dender also lost 8 out of 9 away corner matchups.
AA Gent vs Westerlo
AA Gent has not had a successful coach change so far as De Mil took 0 on 6. The opponents though were not soft with Club Brugge and Antwerp who picked up some form. AA Gent looked ok in defense in the away match against Club even though they did not try to park the bus. The week before at home they faced a weak Antwerp ho went all defense and were able to score on defensive mistakes from AA Gent. That match showed that AA Gent has a lot of work to do. Weterlo has managed to create plenty of chances but missed the finishing/luck. In recent weeks though this has shiften the other way around in that they did not create much but had high finishing which got them a draw against Genk and a win over La Louviere. They do have most of their goals in the 2nd half in away matches (65%) and things often start off rather dull. I would be more surprised to see a wide open start compared to a rather cautious study round and took 0.2 units on
1st Half Under 1.25 @ 1.910 & 0.1 unit on
1H Under 1 @ 2.540. I do expect AA Gent to be the team with most iitiative and Westerlo to more start to play on the counter. I also took 0.065 units on
