The Museum of Cosmonautics, Moscow

Hello, hello, #travelers of my beloved #WorldMappin family ( #hive-163772 ), today I'm sharing some exterior images of the [**Moscow**](https://mibitacoradeviajes.com/relatos-de-viajes/viaje-a-moscu/) Museum of Cosmonautics. In this case, I must clarify the location, not because of the site itself, but because there are several Museums of Cosmonautics in [**Russia**](https://mibitacoradeviajes.com/curiosidades-viajeras/top-9-curiosidades-de-rusia/). In fact, right here in the Russian capital, there are two such museums almost next to each other. In the images I'm showing you, the immense sculpture is one of them, and in front of the Aquarium, there is the other. On my trip to [**St. Petersburg**](https://mibitacoradeviajes.com/relatos-de-viajes/san-petersburgo-la-ciudad-mas-encantadora-de-rusia/), on Hare Island, where the sarcophagi of the Russian tsars are located, is the Museum of Cosmonautics. The curious fact, and somewhat comical to me, is that in these three cases, there's no clarification. They all have the same name, without any specifics: Museum of Cosmonautics. When I asked one of my closest friends, Andrey, he replied without hesitation: nothing strange, we're Russians. I totally understood what he said, but... what does it matter? Oh, yes, yes. Cosmonautics Museum 1

As soon as you step out of the VDNH Metro Station, you're already fascinated by the sculpture park above the Museum. I say about the museum, because it is. The building is underground. What a way to talk about space, burrowing underground like moles. As I told you, I didn't visit the institution, just the surrounding area.

Monument to the Conquerors of Space

This is the name of the sculpture park you can enjoy above the museum. This, the spire, as I call it, is a huge titanium sculpture, 107 meters tall. Huge! As you can see, it simulates the takeoff of a rocket (that little one you see at the top is 11 meters tall). Here you can find numerous bronze sculptures of the original crew members, commanding officers, and, what I liked most, those who made the launch possible: scientists, technicians, specialists, mechanics... Also in the middle of the park is a group representing the solar system, also in bronze spheres. At the foot of the large spire, we can read this inscription.

In the inscription, we can read something like: >

On March 18, 1965, at 11:00 a.m. Moscow time, after the launch of the Voskhod 2 spacecraft, man went into outer space for the first time.

Or something like that.

The other museum is located a few blocks away, within Russia's largest exhibition complex: VDNH Park. And it's where the other images belong.

I've finished for today the mission of giving you these souvenir images. I took them about a year ago, while on my Slow Travel through some Russian cities. Before I say goodbye, I must confess that when I was there, I wanted to fly to Cuba. Very understandable for a backpacking father whose soul is torn between traveling and his daughter stuck on this island. El Museo de la Cosmonáutica, Moscow

Hola, hola, #travelers de mi querida familia WorldMappin, hoy les dejo algunas imágenes exteriores del Museo de la Cosmonáutica de [**Moscow**](https://mibitacoradeviajes.com/relatos-de-viajes/viaje-a-moscu/). En este caso debo aclarar bien el lugar no por el sitio en sí, sino porque hay varios Museos de la Cosmonáutica en [**Russia**](https://mibitacoradeviajes.com/curiosidades-viajeras/top-9-curiosidades-de-rusia/). De hecho, aquí mismo en la capital rusa hay dos museos de este tipo casi uno al lado del otro. En las imágenes que les muestro, la escultura inmensa es uno de ellos y frente al Acuario, está el otro. En mi viaje por [**San Petersburgo**](https://mibitacoradeviajes.com/relatos-de-viajes/san-petersburgo-la-ciudad-mas-encantadora-de-rusia/), en la Isla de las Liebres, donde ese hallan los sarcófagos de los zares rusos, se encuentra el Museo de la Cosmonáutica. El dato curioso, y para mí algo cómico, es que en estos tres casos no hay aclaración. Todos tienen el mismo nombre sin especificación alguna: Museo de la Cosmonáutica. Cuando le pregunté a uno de mis amigos más allegados Andrey, me respondió sin recelo alguno: nada raro, somos rusos. La hostia si entendí lo que me dijo, pero…, qué mas da. Ah, sí, sí. No entré a ninguno de ellos. Solo andaba de paso y me llevé algunas imágenes del lugar con la intención de volver en momentos menos apurados. Ahora me hallo casi a 10.000 millas de distancia. Ya entiendo ese proverbio: no dejes para mañana…

Museo de la Cosmonáutica 1

Apenas sales de la Estación del Metro VDNH, ya te fascina el parque escultórico que se halla sobre el Museo. Digo sobre el museo, porque lo está. El edificio es subterráneo. Vaya manera de hablar del espacio enterrándose bajo tierra como los topos. Como les dije, la institución no la visité, solo los alrededores.

Así se le llama al parque escultórico que disfrutas encima del museo. Esta, aguja, como le llamo, es una escultura de Titanio inmensa, de 107 metros de altura. ¡Descomunal! Como pueden ver, simula el despegue de un cohete (ese pequeñín que ven en la punta tiene 11 metros). Aquí puedes encontrar numerosas esculturas en bronce de los primeros tripulantes, oficiales al mando y, lo que más me agradó, los que hicieron posible el lanzamiento: científicos, técnicos, especialistas, mecánicos… También se encuentra en el medio del parque un conjunto que representa al sistema solar, en esferas también de bronce. Al pie de la gran aguja podemos leer esta inscripción.

En la Inscripción podemos leer algo así como: >

El 18 de marzo de 1965, a las 11 horas, tiempo de Moscow, tras el lanzamiento de la nave espacial Voskjod 2, por primera vez salió el hombre al espacio exterior.

O algo por el estilo.

El otro museo, se halla a unas cuantas calles de allí, dentro del recinto expositivo más grande de Russia: Parque VDNH. Y le corresponden las otras imágenes.

Adiós mundo, me voy al espacio

He terminado por hoy la misión de regalarte estas imágenes del recuerdo. Las tomé hace como un año; mientras realizaba mi Slowtravel por algunas ciudades de Russia. Antes de despedirme debo confesarte que cuando estaba allá quería volar para Cuba. Muy comprensible para un padre mochilero que tiene el alma dividida entre los viajes y su hija anclada en esta isla. Sin embargo, la sensación se repite y no entiendo por qué ahora, estando en Cuba, quiero volar… Jajaja. Hasta la próxima aventura. Les deseo un lindo fin de semana.
