La ranita Cupertina || Cupertina the frog

In 2014, right next to our living room window, a little frog began to perch. It was amazing to see how every day, at 6:37 pm, on the dot, she would come out of a pot, climb up the wall as if she were a small cockroach, jump onto a leaf and there she would start singing until the wee hours of the morning. Her song was so loud and because she was next to the window, we could hear her all over the house. My wife baptized her with the name of Cupertina. One day I had the guitar in my hand and out of idleness I started to verify in what key she sang and I noticed that they were always the same two notes. From there to composing a song in honor of Cupertina, there was no distance. However, I had wanted to record it for years and for some reason it was always postponed. So when I saw that this week's theme was "Infantil" (Childish), I told myself that I couldn't wait any longer. Since I've been having trouble with my voice for a week, I simply decided to sing it in a lower register than I usually sing. For the video I forgot to make the video while I was playing bass, so you can't see it. Nor is there any video of my friend Arnaldo Sanchez, who has been with me for 47 years in all the musical projects I do and who played the drums for this song. Thanks to this Open Mic, finally, the song sees the light. So I hope you like it. Era increíble ver como todos los días, a las 6:37 pm, en punto, salía de un matero, subía por la pared como si fuera una pequeña cucaracha, saltaba a una hoja y allí empezaba a cantar hasta altas horas de la madrugada. Era tan fuerte su canto y por estar al lado de la ventana, la escuchábamos en toda la casa. Mi esposa la bautizó con el nombre de Cupertina. Un día tenía yo la guitarra en la mano y por ociosidad me puse a verificar en que tono cantaba y noté que eran siempre las mismas dos notas. De allí a componer una canción en honor a Cupertina, ya no había distancia. Sin embargo, yop tenía años con ganas de grabarla y por alguna razón siempre se posponía. Así que cuando vi que el tema de esta semana era "Infantil", me dije que ya no podía seguir esperando. Debido a que llevo una semana con problemas en la voz, simplemente decidí cantarla en un registro más grave que el que suelo cantar. Para el video se me olvidó hacer el video mientras tocaba el bajo, así que no se ve. Ni tampoco hay video de mi amigo Arnaldo Sánchez, quien me acompaña desde hace 47 años en todos los proyectos musicales que hago y quien tocó la batería para esta canción. Gracias a este Open Mic, finalmente, la canción ve la luz. Así que espero que les guste.
