In the cartoon that this publication illustrates, a line of people walk out of a country that is falling apart, it is Venezuela. The man without hair asks "And in the place where we are going there will be a better future?", To which the man with the cap leading the march replies "I am satisfied with a future". https://aperturaven.blogspot.com/2014/10/venezuela-se-desliza-hacia-la-ruina-por.html (Website in Spanish) This illustration that starts this publication is not recent, I found it in a blog post that dates back to October 1, 2014, and by that date the cartoon was not new. At that time, a migratory phenomenon was taking place in which the rates of departure of people to other countries were higher than the rate of people who entered Venezuela with the intention of staying to work and live in the country. It was about the initial stages of the so-called Venezuelan Diaspora. Venezuela had long been a receiving country for migration, it was very strange that the population of Venezuela went to live in another country, they used to leave for studies or work, but it was not part of the aspirations of most of the people born in Venezuela to go to live in another country. This changed situation began to change a little over 15 years ago, after the massive layoffs of professionals in the oil industry and strategic industries of the Venezuelan State. The government at that time was from the same party that governs today and they carried out the dismissals as a way of retaliation against a general strike, which was not successful anyway. By 2010, the economic and political situation showed symptoms of serious decomposition and irreversible damage. The number of people leaving or seriously considering their plans to emigrate increased. By 2015, emigration began to be found in the list of aspirations of young people who were in the University, hoping to complete their studies to be able to leave with a professional degree. Today, after spending Christmas in quarantine and next to see the end of the year, I have been reminded of people who have left the country looking for a new opportunity in life. In part I remembered a song, it was "Come to my House this Christmas" by Luis Aguile, who in more recent times had heard it in a version of the musical group Vos Veis . This song comes to me a little strong and leaves me thinking that if I, who have stayed in this country, miss those who left, then they may feel even more nostalgia and complex feelings, because things for migrants never they are easy and on dates like this it is that not being close to relatives and old friends gives a greater regret.
