It's rare to see such friendship today.

Sixty years after their graduation, Dad and his friends celebrated the Diamond Jubilee this week and I took off, just to take them to the venue and made sure they enjoyed the day to the fullest. In a world that moves as fast as ours, maintaining a bond for six decades means these people have successfully navigated everything from the invention of the internet to the inevitable shifts in life’s seasons - it's definitely a staggering achievement.

A friendship that has lasted 21915 days, they definitely share a history that's rare and we can't even think about celebrating our friendship this long.

They no longer need to do anything together to have a good time, . sitting together and discussing their memories of that time is as fulfilling as a grand event because the value is in the presence, not the activity. Those memories are no less than a shared mythology and I was silently enjoying each of those precious moments while capturing these diamond moments.

And look at their body language - for few hours, they were back to their young time, discussing what all they did during their college times - they are the only people left who remember exactly how a certain event felt in 1966, holding versions of each other that no one else knows.

And meet the President and Secretary of their Union - Dad was Secretary and quite active in everything and I got to know few incidences about which I was not even aware - only friends can tell those secrets.

We did a photo shoot of each couple after some group photography, these photos are just not frames but real masterpiece of the time and fulfilling life they have lived.

And finally singles who were not to be missed.

There were some family members with help of whom, we managed to move them together to capture a group photo.

Most of them have health issues, but the enthusiasm with which (along with their better halves) they came to participate in the event, was commendable - a perfect showcase of life is lived best when you make the most out of it, with divine touch.

And a event like this cannot end without some delicious divine food brought from a temple.

We served the plates on their table, so that they don't need to take the pain of standing in queue.

And the most energetic few were ready to eat on the table.

The credit of arranging everything for such a flawless function goes to Sudarshan Uncle and few others - quite a role model for me - he plays badminton at this age and do even foreign trips alone. His mantra of life is to think and plan for tomorrow to be occupied today, no matter what happens.

A person capable of holding the university single handed.

Dad's best friend, a prominent figure and writer who still works for 15 hour a day - inspires us to accept the reality that life is better if dutiful, otherwise, the mind treats it as a burden.

Finally time to say goodbye...with a promise to meet next year, if........

Here is a video capturing these diamond moments to share in their group, they are not tech savy people, so watching the video is not only a lot easier but appealing as well.

Shot on Sony α6400 with 18-135mm LENS.

I consider this opportunity as a privilege to create this special memoir for them - they don't have much interest in technology, but seeing this memoir electrifies their thoughts and seeing them happy makes me feel blessed.
