Saraswati Puja or Vasant Panchami is celebrated in the honor of Hindu goddess Saraswati, one of the trinity of chief goddesses, the goddess of knowledge or education, music, art and creativity and for that reason, it's a very important day for students to seek blessings from her, for academic success and creative inspiration. As part of the tradition, books, pens, and notebooks are placed at the feet of Goddess Saraswati for her blessings and that means it's a day off for study. It is a celebration that highlights the significance of knowledge in life, and we encourage our kids to be part of these rituals, by celebrating together in the community, which is more joyful, breaking barriers of age and status, united by the shared pursuit of enlightenment.

This year it was special for the boy as he wanted to sit as a Yajamana or patron for the very first time, to seek success this year. We always teach our kids to seek divine blessings and feel the deeper weight of the Goddess’s presence to enlighten the inner light, that brings clarity cutting through the fog of ignorance - wisdom is not merely about facts, but about the harmony of the soul. Without diving blessings, it is impossible to silence the digital noise of our busy life — the constant notifications and the pressure of comparison. So let me present you our some cherished moments of our celebration :

Coconuts are broken in front of God in Hinduism as a symbolic act of breaking the ego, offering the purest part of oneself to the divine after shedding worldly desires and negativity (water), and representing a bloodless sacrifice, symbolizing purity, prosperity, and new beginnings.

And the ritual ends with offering flowers with folded hands, another sacred Hindu ritual performed to express deep devotion, reverence, and complete surrender to a deity. It is believed to invoke divine energy, purify the mind and body, and bring blessings of peace and prosperity.

Taking blessings from the Diya is another deeply rooted tradition in our Hinduism that symbolizes inviting divine light, wisdom, and prosperity into one's life. The lamp represents the "Knowledge Principle", that destroys our darkness of ignorance.

The delicious prasad distributed to all, by some of the core members who take all the responsibilities to make this celebration a grand success.

Officially Vasant Panchami marks the end of Winter, inviting Spring that is known as the "King of all Seasons", though its not true in recent times. We did a photo shoot in the garden as it's time to say Goodbye to flowers, more to come on that.......
