When we spent a few days in Berlin in December twenty five, we still had the Hard Rock Cafe from Kuala Lumpur in our minds. We kept talking about it and the music items we had seen there. So of course we had to visit the Hard Rock Cafe at the KuDamm as well. It felt like the perfect chance to compare both places and enjoy another little walk through rock music history.

We went there in the evening and ordered a large beer each. They had a small deal going on. If you paid only a few euros more, you could take the Hard Rock beer glass home with you. We liked the idea and said why not. After a short while we could not sit still anymore and had to walk around inside the cafe to look at the guitars and the outfits they had on display.

And wow, there was so much cool stuff to see. Berlin has some amazing pieces. There were guitars from Rammstein, Jon Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, and also one from my favorite, Jimi Hendrix. They also have a guitar from Neil Young on the wall at the KuDamm. Then there were four Kiss dolls, which made me smile because I enjoy their music a lot. Right next to them was a picture of Sid Vicious from the Sex Pistols. You do not expect to see all of these names together in one room, but that is what makes the Hard Rock Cafe kind of special.

One item that surprised me was a stage outfit from Tony Iommi, the legendary guitarist from Black Sabbath. I met him many years ago at the Frankfurt Music Fair, so seeing his outfit again brought back a nice memory. They also had items connected to Led Zeppelin and a beautiful photo of John Bonham, also known as Bonzo, who was their iconic drummer. He is considered one of the most influential drummers in rock music, so that photo stood out a lot.

It felt like walking through a small museum where every corner tells a story. A huge collection of rock history is presented right there in Berlin. Together with the memories from Kuala Lumpur, this visit turned into another small journey through music culture for me. It is funny how two different cities on two different continents can share the same Hard Rock feeling and still surprise you in completely different ways.

Now I am curious where the next Hard Rock Cafe on my travels will be. Maybe another city will surprise me again. Have you ever visited a Hard Rock Cafe? And if yes, which one would you recommend?
