TToday I share with you a recipe I learned in the Creole sweet course I mentioned in one of my previous posts here https://ecency.com/hive-180569/@dlizara/eng-or-esp-sweet-temptation-f6af4369e7455. In this course, I was taught how to prepare polvorosas, cookies with a compact and soft dough that are fragile and melt in your mouth. Traditionally, I used to make them with oil, but this time I learned a new technique that uses other ingredients that crumble when bitten.

Without further ado, I show you the ingredients and the step-by-step:

En este curso, me enseñaron a preparar las polvorosas, unas galletas con una masa compacta y suave que resultan frágiles y se deshacen en la boca. Tradicionalmente, solía hacerlas con aceite, pero esta vez aprendí una nueva técnica que utiliza otros ingredientes que se desmoronan al morder.

Sin más, le muestro los ingredientes y el paso a paso:


𝙄𝙉𝙂𝙍𝙀𝘿𝙄𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙎/𝙄𝙉𝙂𝙍𝙀𝘿𝙄𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙀𝙎:


-100 grams of vegetable shortening
-1/2 cup sugar
-200 grams of flour
-1 egg yolk
-1 egg
-1/4 teaspoon of powdered cinnamon
-1/4 teaspoon baking powder
-1/2 teaspoon vanilla

*We obtained 18 polvorosas

-200 gramos de harina
-1 yema de huevo
-1 huevo
-1/4 cucharadita de canela en polvo
-1/4 cucharadita de polvo de hornear
-1/2 cucharadita de vainilla

The first thing to do is to weigh the ingredients and preheat the oven to 180 °C. We start by adding the vegetable shortening to a bowl and beat until creamy, then we add the sugar little by little and continue beating.

Lo primero es pesar los ingredientes y precalentar el horno a 180 °C. Comenzamos agregando la manteca vegetal a un envase y batimos hasta cremar, luego le vamos agregando poco a poco el azúcar y seguimos batiendo.

Now add the egg and then the yolk of the other egg little by little, allowing these ingredients to integrate and continue beating.

Ahora añadimos el huevo y luego la yema del otro huevo poco a poco, permitiendo que estos ingredientes se integren seguimos batiendo.

Add cinnamon and vanilla.

Mix the flour with the baking powder, sift, add this ingredient because the flour is all-purpose. If you use leavened wheat flour, omit the baking powder. Then, we add this mixture to the preparation and stir with the help of a wooden paddle.

Mezclamos la harina con el polvo de hornear, tamizamos, le agregamos este ingrediente porque la harina es de todo uso. Si colocas harina de trigo leudante, omita el polvo de hornear. Luego, agregamos esta mezcla a la preparación y removemos con la ayuda de una paleta de madera.

Then, we release the paddle, take the dough to the counter and work it with the help of our hands. You will notice that it is ready when it comes off easily from your hands..

Luego, soltamos la paleta, llevamos la masa al mesón y la trabajamos con la ayuda de las manos. Notaremos que estará lista cuando se despegue fácilmente de las manos.

On the tray we place greaseproof paper, on the other side, we are going to weigh the portions and make sure that they weigh the same so that our dusters are the same size. We take each portion of 30 grams, flatten with both hands and transfer them to the tray.

En la bandeja colocamos papel antigrasa, por otro lado, vamos a pesar las porciones y asegurarnos de que pesen lo mismo para que nuestras polvorosas queden del mismo tamaño. Tomamos cada porción de 30 gramos, aplastamos con ambas manos y las trasladamos a la bandeja.

Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
