Finally, let's start with a category that is at least very important to me, and that is the Indie of the year, dedicated to rewarding games from independent studios, and here I want to put my hand in the fire for a title that I have not played yet but whose studio I know, and that is Sea of Stars, from Sabotage, creators of The Messenger, a game that I loved and that I have good sources that their new game is equal or better than the gem they released previously.

I have to say that there are other games in this category that deserve the award, the music of Final Fantasy XVI is wonderful, but that of all the nominees is wonderful, in the end it is always a matter of taste, and I can only lean on what my little heart tells me and vote Hi-Fi Rush.

It may sound a bit strange to give an award to a game that hasn't come out yet, and that's what the Most Anticipated Video Game category is for, a selection of 5 upcoming games where you vote for the one that generates the most expectation among the candidates, and mine is very easy to guess... Hollow Knight Silksong. It's not even nominated, I know, for a game to qualify in theory it must have a minimum release window for 2024, and that's why, in theory, it hasn't been nominated, another one that comes out in 2024 and hasn't been nominated is Persona 3 Reload, an absolute dream for me and that I can't wait to play, but sticking to the list, my choice is without a doubt Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, I loved the remake, despite its detractors I found it enjoyable and it made me cry like a little girl on several occasions, I don't expect any less from Rebirth.

In the Best Action/Adventure Game category, I haven't played Tears of the Kingdom yet, so I'm going with Resident Evil 4 Remake. If anyone wonders what I think about a remake nominated alongside games this year, I don't care, it's an exceptional game, I had a great time and it has a knife parry, I just need to play Separate Ways but it seems enough to have played it all to justify its presence here.

However, in Best Action Game (which is not the same) I go for Hi-Fi Rush, RE4R is exquisite but the gameplay of Hi-Fi Rush is impeccable, excellent, wonderful, nothing bad to say, and the truth hurts me a lot that Hi-Fi Rush was not present as a candidate for GOTY, the same I can say of Final Fantasy XVI because although I have not played it I have enjoyed its music a lot and it would have been sublime to hear it together with the other nominees.

Before I conclude and move on to the most important prize, I can't help but talk about the category for Best Art Direction, a very important prize that this year I find quite contested, I've heard great things about Alan Wake 2 and I would like to support it based on that, but I have to give my vote once again to Hi-Fi Rush, it would simply be my game of the year if RE4R didn't exist, and I'm serious about that.

But let's talk directly about the GOTY, who of the nominees is going to win and why it's going to be Baldur's Gate 3. Jokes aside, what BG3 has achieved this year has been unthinkable for a niche game, to make a game that truly stands out for its freedom and that so many people have gone out to play it en masse, either solo or with friends, seems to me something impressive, and although I must emphasize that this year all the nominated games are absolute masterpieces, the undisputed winner is Baldur's Gate 3, I liked RE4R more because I've played it more, but one thing does not take away the other.

Volviendo al punto, como en otros artes como la música o el cine, donde anualmente se premia el talento o si prefieren, la fama, en los videojuegos tenemos nuestros propios premios, hace no mucho ocurrió la gala de los Golden Joystick Awards donde Baldur’s Gate 3 se proclamó como el juego del año, un premio merecido pero que muchas veces no se tiene en cuenta porque premios como los Golden Joystick muchas veces son omitidos por el público, pues cuando hablamos de premios principalmente vienen los The Game Awards de Geoff Keighley a a mente, y te caiga mejor o peor, no podemos negarle que ha logrado consolidarse como probablemente el mayor organizador de eventos de la industria.

Tampoco les hablaré de todas las categorías porque son demasiadas, pero tomaré las más importantes para mi y les diré cual considero cual va a ganar y si lo veo necesario, cual quiero yo que gane en cada categoría, al final todo esto es un tema mayormente subjetivo así que si gustan dejar sus opiniones las leeré encantada, la idea es que cada quien pueda exponer su juego favorito.

En fin, empecemos por una categoría que al menos para mi es muy importante, y es la de Indie del año, dedicada a premiar juegos de estudios independientes, y aquí quiero meter la mano en el fuego por un título que aún no he jugado pero cuyo estudio conozco, y ese es Sea of Stars, de parte de Sabotage, creadores de The Messenger, un juego que amé y que se de buena fuente que su nuevo juego es igual o mejor que la joyita que sacaron anteriormente.

Puede sonar un poco extraño darle un premio a un juego que aún no sale, y para eso está la categoría de videojuego más esperado, una selección de 5 juegos próximos a salir donde se vota al que más expectativa genere de los candidatos, y el mio es muy fácil de adivinar... Ni siquiera está nominado, lo sé, para que un juego califique en teoría debe tener mínimo una ventana de lanzamiento para 2024, y es por eso que, en teoría no ha sido nominado, otro que sale en 2024 y no ha sido nominado es Persona 3 Reload, un absoluto sueño para mi y que no puedo esperar a jugar, pero apegándome a la lista, mi elección es sin dudarlo Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, el remake me encantó, pese a sus detractores yo lo encontré disfrutable y en varias ocasiones me hizo llorar como niña pequeña, no espero menos de Rebirth.

En Mejor juego de Acción/Aventura, aún no he jugado Tears of the Kingdom así que me voy por Resident Evil 4 Remake, si alguien se pregunta qué pienso respecto a un remake nominado junto a juegos de este año, me da lo mismo, es un juego excepcional, me la pasé muy bien y tiene un parry cuchillo, solo me falta jugar Separate Ways pero me parece suficiente haberlo jugado entero para justificar su presencia acá.

Sin embargo, en Mejor juego de acción (que no es lo mismo) me voy por Hi-Fi Rush, RE4R es exquisito pero es que el gameplay de Hi-Fi Rush es impecable, excelente, maravilloso, nada malo que decir, y la verdad me duele mucho que Hi-Fi Rush no haya estado presente como candidato a GOTY, lo mismo puedo decir de Final Fantasy XVI pues aunque no lo he jugado he disfrutado mucho su música y habría sido sublime escucharla junto a los demás nominados.

Antes de concluir y pasar al premio más importante, no puedo quedarme sin hablar de la categoría de Mejor Dirección de Arte, un premio muy importante y que este año encuentro bastante peleado, he escuchado maravillas de Alan Wake 2 y me gustaría apoyarlo en base a eso, pero debo darle el voto una vez más a Hi-Fi Rush, simplemente sería mi juego del año si no existiera RE4R, y lo digo en serio.

Pero hablemos directamente del GOTY, quién de los nominados va a ganar y por qué va a ser Baldur’s Gate 3. Bromas aparte, lo que ha logrado BG3 este año ha sido impensable para un juego de nicho, lograr hacer un juego que destaque verdaderamente por su libertad y que tanta gente haya salido a jugarlo en masa, ya sea en solitario o con amigos, me parece algo impresionante, y aunque debo recalcar que este año todos los juegos nominados son absolutas obras maestras, el ganador indiscutible es Baldur’s Gate 3, a mi me ha gustado más RE4R porque lo he jugado más, pero una cosa no quita la otra.
