30 Day Blogging Challenge - Day 5: 3 people/sources you follow closely
0 comments
I came across a couple of posts on Hive that had the tag #30daybloggingchallenge. I liked the idea, and so this is my challenge.
This post is a little late. Holidays have been delaying posting. I'm going to approach this post in another way to the title. Instead of choosing only three I’m going to choose three from each category.
People I follow:
When it comes to people I follow, it’s on Instagram for the most part.
SheBuildsBro: The reason I like her is because I enjoy seeing females in the trades. I hate feminism because it’s not tries to put women above men. In other words it fails at its intent, to bring equality to men and women. But I see no reason why women shouldn’t be in trades and prefer it if I’m honest. Because of their weaker frame they tend to find innovate ways to achieve the same thing. I love that.
OzToolTalk: Woodworking is my hobby and these guys take tools and punish them. Then they produce YouTube video reviews of those tools. Well worth a read. The next one is a duo that have nothing to do with each other.
Daniel Eran Dilger has been a staple of mine since he had his own website. I love how he digs deep into the history of Apple and calls out all those spreading FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt). It's pleasant to read the retorts to shills for companies like Micro$oft, Google, Samsung, etc . Which leads me to The Macalope.
The Macalope is like Daniel except funnier. Daniel is the straight laced history promoting defender of Apple. The Macalope is, on the hand that is opposite to the one in question, an antelope with a Classic Mac for a head.
So while this might be four names, there is three different styles here that I follow.
Sources I follow:
The sources I follow are more or less news and information related.
JW.org is the official website for Jehovah's Witnesses. We also have an official app in JW Library. I use this for scriptural thoughts for the day, preparing for our meetings, and Bible Study. We also have news about branches around the world. Russia is head of the news at the moment. They have more or less declared war on Jehovah's Witnesses. They are using falsified reports to declare us as extremists. This is due to our refusing military and political service. We instead obey Jesus' words found at John 13:35. So this site is great for finding out how our people in Russia and other places are doing.
Stuff is one of New Zealand's main news aggregators. I use it because it has more local news than The Herald, 3News, OneNews, or RadioNZ. I don't like it because it full of those Outbrain ads. It cheapens the publication something chronic.
AppleInsider and ArsTechnica are tech publications that I follow daily. AppleInsider is, as you can imagine, an Apple focused site. It is a good source of Apple news and information. As someone who likes to keep an eye on Apple stuff it's a site I head to daily.
ArsTechnica is a great site for all things science and technology related. Their reviewing is amazing. If some new tech comes out they'll put it through its paces and end up with a 20 page review. You should see what they do when macOS or iOS full releases come out.
All these sites are ones I go to either daily or weekly. Of course there are those I follow on Publish0x and Hive but I don't so much use them as sources, more as good reads.
