Hello everyone

I will be attending a historic event soon and as part of my preparations towards the event, I've decided to make myself some crochet earrings. The little twist however, is that I do not know the outfits I'd be particularly wearing for this event and as such, I've chosen to make as many crochet earrings as possible during my free time.

Last week, I made crochet earrings for a client using a blush pink colour and while I was at it, I thought the blush pink would go really well with a darker colour, especially maroon. As such, I had it at the back of my mind to try mixing the two colours together. Today, I'd be sharing with you the result of blush pink and maroon colour combination.

Procedure

This earring can be made in less than ten steps and using simple crochet stitches. It's a beginner friendly project and requires just a little amount to yarn.

First, make a slip knot and then proceed to make a chain of twelve.

With the hook still in the twelfth chain, make a slip stitch into the very first chain. This should create a circle.

Into the circle, not the chain spaces, make twenty-four single crochet stitches. It's important to be gentle at this point because these single crochet stitches would serve as the base for the project.

Next, make twenty-four double crochet stitches into the chain spaces without chaining two to begin the row. End the row by slip stitching into the very first space.

The pattern for the final row consists of two chains and slip stitches. To begin, make a chain of two and then slip stitch into the next space. Repeat this pattern till the end of the row. This pattern gives the earrings the spiky ends. Remember to leave a tail for sewing in later.

Next, with a different yarn colour make a chain of twelve again. Then pass the chain of twelve through the center of the first piece of the crochet earrings and make a slip stitch. This forms another circle.

For the second row, make twenty-four single crochet stitches into the center of the circle. End the row with a slip stitch.

Next, make twenty-four double crochet stitches into every space and end the row with a slip stitch.

Finally, repeat the chain two and slip stitch pattern we used while making the first piece of the earrings. Again, leave a tail for seeing in.

With this, the crochet earrings are almost ready. If you want both pieces of your earrings to move freely, you can ignore this next step, but if you want them set in position, go ahead to sew them together using the tails you left. Ensure that the colour of yarn you're using to sew isn't obvious on the other colour of yarn.

Finally, attach your earring hooks and the crochet earrings are ready to be worn. They are called swirl crochet earrings or crochet intertwined earrings. What do you think of them? Also, do you have any other crochet earring designs I could recreate?
