From Seeds To Plates: The Joy of Harvest
1 comment

Hello @homesteading family.
Happy New Year, happy new month, and happy new week! It’s really been about two months since I last posted. A lot happened in January, and I’m genuinely thankful to be back here again with everyone. You’re welcome to my blog.
Today, I want to share the deep joy in my heart that comes with harvesting the fruits of one’s labour. Over the past two months, we’ve harvested and enjoyed several of our farm's produce, and honestly, it feels so good.

I don’t know if this feeling is unique to me because it’s my first time truly enjoying the harvest from farm work. That feeling of “I laboured for this, and this is my reward”, yes, that’s precisely the vibe. We also enjoyed meat and fish from the home poultry and fish farm. It feels amazing.

The joy and happiness that come with eating what you planted, and even making money from it, are priceless to me. It's entirely a different feeling from buying food, even when you have the money.

I kept thinking, “So all of this came from the ground?” It felt like a miracle and made me appreciate Gmore deeply. The wonder of sowing just a few seeds and harvesting them in bags is simply amazing, and I’m grateful to God for letting me witness it.

So far, we’ve enjoyed yam tubers, beans, maize, guinea corn, fruits, palm fruits, tomatoes, pepper and very recently, cassava.

A lot has happened and is still happening on the fa, and I’ll be sharing in future posts. Things like planting carrots and bell peppers for the first time, and harvesting during the cashew season.

I honestly never knew the cashew season was such a serious time fcashew farmersrop.

Today, I simply wanted to share my joy, how happy I feel harvesting, eating from our farm, and earning from our produce, even though it's not much.

I’ve also been told that food prices have dropped significantly this year compared to the previous year, because the economic situation pushed many people into farming.

For my family, who just acquired a small piece of farmland, it’s a mix of gains and losses. But all in all, I’m excited about enjoying our harvest and just wanted to share the feeling.
Thank you for stopping by my blog.
See you in the next post.
Cheers
