Will splinterlands leave Hive?

As I said in my thread today, was offline for most of the last 3 days, learned that trump nearly got killed and that splinterlands is actually considering leaving the chain. A proposal has been put out requesting 500k HBD from the community. You can find the post link here: https://peakd.com/splinterlands/@splinterlands/splinterlands-dhf-proposal
I have to say my mind isn't fully made yet, I was not expecting the game to look for funding after 5+ years to keep afloat from within the community.
This really got me thinking about what those community funds need to be about and how to spend it. I like better the approach that the LEO ecosystem is having about building new revenue streams and trying to balance like that and testing the product as we go rather then raising millions and building a product that is not sustainable. I now the latter approach has been used in the traditional world to turn great startup into multi billion dollar entreprise but the difference here is that investor don't actually get equity or voting rights in the company.
A possibility for $HIVE, Lending money?
That got me thinking instead of giving money, couldn't part of the DHF be used to lend money to projects that need it, a bit like what the financial industry is doing. Proposals could become for that as well as contributing some money to waiting other HIVE related project.
As someone pointed out in the comments of the proposals, HIVE cannot protect itself from having any projects leaving the chain.
We have to be careful about creating a precedent, what does that message say to new potential business coming to build on this tech stack?
Is the the role of blockchains to be competing for projects by financing them?
I think this issue is more fundamental then just saving splinterlands and keeping it inside the community, are we going to go down the path of trying to pay projects to come here? I have trust in splinterlands and I am sure their won't be a problem with them and the chain has good history and is mixed with the splinterlands comunity. I am a non active member of it but I still have a some assets in cards and land but not playing that much anymore, my focus switched more to writing and being part of the inleo.io community.
Still I feel some concerns about the future of Hive if we make an exception of paying for a product on Hive half a million for something that is already developed, would that 500k change the future of the splinterland? Are we taking about just winning some time until the token price does rise and it can be self funded again with sales or are we talking about using it to build that next killer feature that will suddenly make the game more attractive to even more outside players?
Hive is different, you can't have the same expectation from other chains that might be more centralized.
One thing that is really hard is is creating consensus between everyone, Hive is still distributed to a lot a accounts with people having a wide range of interests that might not all align.
What made it difficult to market to outside people is because there is no single entity outside that was created for that purpose, we don't have a HIVE media marketing inc. what happen is an accumulation of individual action taken to , I know we can't move as fast as other chain but a least the growth is organic and if it manage to be exponential later without infusing a lot of cash to stimulate that growth then nothing will stop that snow ball.
I still feel like we are just building the fundamentals/fundation as a community of a community based system can create. As long as we have dedicated individual, this blockchain will keep on going, even if we are not the richest or most fun chain, I think we have a change at outliving our competitor, the fact that we are still here stronger then ever after 7-8 years says a lot.
For me it is like we are building an open source system like Linux that could be a framework for a different internet model. Of course we can't compete to be the Microsoft of tomorrow but I think we will have an audience for this chain.
Linux is still the backbone of the internet, people might not be making a lot of money from it but it provides an important part of the world.
It is like building for our future selfs or children, an option, a different path into what the internet can be and what a community based non border world can look like. I think there is a space for everyone here and we have to cherish that.

PS: I will be monitoring the comments on the proposals to see what people think and what some of th earguments are before forging my final opinion on the matter. There is still 6 days left before the proposals starting date. Looks like 2024 is a political year for a lot of people and communities :)
PPS: I tried again some GPT-o image creation with the logo on input but still not working as I planned.
