Art or Scribbles on Canvas?

Art is subjective—what one person sees as a masterpiece, another might dismiss as mere scribbles. But where is the line between true artistic expression and something that seems randomly thrown onto a canvas?
Some paintings captivate us with their depth, emotion, and technique, clearly reflecting the artist’s vision and effort.
Others, however, leave us wondering: is this art, or could a child create something similar?
Of course, art isn’t just about technique—it’s also about emotion, meaning, and perspective. Abstract and contemporary styles challenge traditional views, inviting us to see beauty beyond form and realism. But do all abstract pieces hold deeper meaning, or do some rely on the idea that “anything can be called art”?
The paintings featured here are part of an exhibition in Chișinău, provided by the Romanian Painting Association.
So, what do you think—are these works powerful expressions of creativity, or just chaotic brushstrokes on canvas?
