THE CONFUSED CLASS

Okechukwu popular called Okey by his friends and family had been a very stubborn boy right from his pre-nursery school days.
Apparently, the only person He listens to was his Mum. He had lost His Dad when He was just about three years old. Which left His Mum alone. She had to pour her whole life into her son, as She popularly called him my second husband. Okey's Mum was a very beautiful woman.

In fact, there was a rumor that went viral for those that cared to know, that the king proposed to her to be his fifth wife. As always her response was, "I just want to focus on my son and raise him the way his late father had wanted."

It was a lame excuse and she knew that too but it was a subtle way of saying 'No' without hurting anyone's feelings, including the King, like the rumor suggested.

Okey wasn't really a bright student in school. You know what let's call a spade, a spade and not a shovel.

Okey wasn't bright at all. He had an awful result to an extent that his supposed mates are in primary five and He was still in primary three.
Though there was a single talent He had. He could make anything with his hands. I guess God doesn't send anyone to the world without giving them at least two talents.
Okey's talent was that he was skilled with creating stuff from nothing. He was also the best artist in the entire school. I mean from primary 1 to SS3.

One day in class, the English teacher played a game with them just to make the class lively at the same time revise what She had taught them previously.

She said;

'class I have a red fruit in my hand' she said hiding her hands behind her back. 'what is it?' She asked.

"It is a red apple." Adanna answered.

"No, it is a tomato." The teacher replied. "Adanna, but I love how you think." She added.

For the second time, she also hid her hand behind her back and asked again;

"I have a green fruit in my hand, what is it?" She asked again.

"It is an orange." Henry answered.

"No, it is a mango. But Henry, I love how you think." The teacher responded.
She did this two more times and She always ended the response with, "I love how you think."

Okechukwu got fed up and He stood up;

"Teacher, in my pocket." He said as he dipped his hands into his pocket. "I'm holding a longgg and hard object, what is it?" He added.

Angrily the teacher said, "okechukwu, you are a spoilt boy, I will take this to the principal. How dare you ask me that kind of question?" She said raising her cane up as the whole class watched in silence.

Okey brought the object out of his pocket, "It is a pencil, but I love how you think." He responded.

The teacher stood still, embarrassed. It seemed it was just Okey and the teacher that had understood what had happened.

The teacher wanting to have her comeback at Okey, decided to change the game to opposite words.

"Okechukwu, keep standing." She said as she continued. "What is the opposite of 'come'? She asked knowing Okey wasn't smart enough to crack it.

"The answer is 'went'." Okey replied sincerely like the question was an easy one.

The teacher looked at him and said, "You are a fool."

"Okey replied thinking the teacher was still playing the opposite word game. "You are a half."

The teacher paused not understanding what was happening again. "No I mean, you are a fool." She said again.

Okey looked confused. "That's what I'm saying ma, you are a half."

She now realized that Okey thought She was calling him Full. But that wasn't even a correct English. Nobody says 'you are a full." I guess only Okey wouldn't know that.

Trying to correct what Okey thought she meant she said, "I mean you are foolish" she said again.

Okey honestly gave his feedback like he now understood what the teacher was saying.
"Ok I understand now, the answer is, you are half-ish."

The teacher lost her temper, "Okey I want you to say" She said beating her hand on her chest, "I AM A FOOL. I DON'T HAVE SENSE." The teacher relaxed feeling she had communicated her point well.

Okey paused for a while feeling it was a tricky question. "Teacher, number one, you have sense that is why the principal employed you. Number two, that English is not correct. 'I am a full is not a correct English, the correct one is, I am Full.'

Okey's confusion left the whole class in confusion. The teacher even started feeling foolish for the fact that Okey had corrected her. At least that's what He taught.

Thanks for stopping by 💃🏿💃🏿🙋🏿‍♂️.
