Social Media Challenge: Facing Eternal Tofu Again In Shapeshift Happens
17 comments

Prelude
Good day to all, how are you doing this lovely Friday and it is time for another battle sharing where I go up against tough cards. Today's battle will be surrounding a card that always overpower me whenever I go against it. But one interesting ruleset we had today is that we have Shapeshift Happens in this match.
Shapeshift Happens
The ability reads like this:
All units have shapeshift. So it allows any unit to benefit from any friendly bloodline buff.
Quite frankly this is crazy, because when choosing the right bloodline archon, you can have access to every card as long as the splinter colour is available. So this is quite crazy. And if there is a good bloodline ability, it will make the gameplay even crazier because every card can have that same buff.
So let's go right on into this match against opponent whom have Eternal Toufu as archon.

Selection Analysis
In today's matchup, there were 3 splinter choices available to us for this match, namely fire, dragon and earth. And because it is shapeshift happens ruleset, for me, I would say that Elves have an awesome bloodline buff so I chose earth splinter.
To lead the lineup, as it is already pre decided that it will be elf bloodline archon, it will be Kaylia Silverleaf to lead the lineup with execute granted to every elf and -1 magic attack to all my opponent magic attackers. Because the ruleset is shapeshift happens, means as long a card is fire, earth or dragon, all can be picked. And because every card can have bloodline buff, cards with bloodline tribute become important here since it will boost every card now. And so, leading the line, it will be Decrepit Windseer with the bloodline tribute. Next in the lineup is Pallus which can hit for 3 damage with reach and has flying. And the next card will be Thanalorian Blade which has opportunity. Following will be 2 magic cards, one being Emberguard which reduced opponent melee attack by demoralize and Night Reaper that hits flying attackers hard due to wing break. Last but not least, I put up Chaos Battle Mage which has piercing. Do also note that, because of archon bloodline ability, every card gains execute.
Opponent used the Eternal Tofu, which will be a pain for me because every card will get thorns and my melee cards will suffer due to this. Opponent had the lineup with Mantaroth as the tank followed by Pallus taking up the 2nd position to strike my frontline. Next card is Gramel the Hunter which can have triple attack and looking like a potential headache. Next is Riklauniman which is also a 2 attack kind of card, so opponent also have their own high hitting cards. And the rear, it will be Blackmoor Jinx with the snipe.
A crazy strong archon vs a bloodline archon. How does this change the outcome when it is a shapeshift match. Let's find out through the round by round synopsis.
Round by Round Synopsis
Round 1 - What an exciting round 1 we had. The good thing that happened for my side is the killing of Decrepit Windseer which boosted stats for everyone in the lineup. However, things are a little worrying for my melee attackers due to the thorns. And I still got a couple of multi attackers to worry about.

Round 2 - My prediction was right as I know with the accelerate health loss due to thorns, my melee attackers will fall and indeed both feel this round. With the only good thing that Night Reaper zaps opponent Pallus to death. And we are now with 3 a piece.

Round 3 - This is a little crazy because we are seeing that Emberguard cannot stand the damage that fling towards it and fell. While Night Reaper continue to hold strong and it is the last card I have on my side because it becomes a sitting duck situation. In this round, we also took out Mantaroth.

Round 4-5 - Thanks to the execute ability, I was able to clear one card per turn and claim the victory. A really close shave for me if Night Reaper fell then all is gone. A really nice win against an archon that is a pain.
Battle Summary
If we look at the way the match went, the key things that allowed me the advantage is the blood line tribue and also the bloodline buff with execute which help to clear out low health cards and allow the tide to turn in my favour.
Really enjoyed this match and see how bloodline is important in gameplay to get the necessary victory.
