General overview
International Day for Biological Diversity IBD is internationally observed after the proclamation of the United Nations. It aimed to increase the awareness and understanding of biological diversity and the issues it faces. In 1993, the United Nations General Assembly declared 29 December as International Day for Biodiversity. Late in December 2000, The United Nations General Assembly agreed to observe 22 May as International Day for Biodiversity.

Be a Part of The Plan
Be a Part of the Plan is the theme of the IBD 2024. It is a call and direction to all stakeholders to halt and reverse all kinds of loss to biodiversity by implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global biodiversity framework also known as the Biodiversity Plan.
Different sectors such as governmental, and non-governmental organizations, local communities, legal bodies, businessmen, and individuals are encouraged to support the implementation of The biodiversity plan. It is the responsibility of every common and proper, every gender, every caste, and every age person to play their role in the implementation of the biodiversity plan.
