The World Is On Fire

I'm never sure what way to start these posts of mine, where I reflect upon what is happening in the world right now. As I try to find the words that will best encapsulate, this moment in time. Where I get swept up in my own life, carried along by my day to day, but with a heaviness in my heart. Along with this desire to do something, to mobilise somehow. We all want to see change in the world, it can't possibly continue as is.

And yet it will, this chaos that we continue to see escalating, the violence being afflicted, the deception, the manipulation.

All the while, seeing how desensitised some folk. Thinking about how we have been slowly desensitised on purpose down through the ages. With Hollywood playing a huge part in that, training us, to no react to our sense of fear, that fight or flight, which we experience a lot of when we watch certain movies or play video games. We feel fear, but we have trained ourselves to just ignore it. Dumbing down our ability to reaction, our fight and flight. So ultimately we put up with more. Just letting things happen.

I know it's not like that for everyone, but the movie and gaming industry is huge and of course it's not all bad. But the commercial side, is definitely being manipulated, I don't know about you, but that is pretty obvious to me.

And yet, even with all of that, I am aware of the caravans of people that are making their way to the Gaza border, of The Flotilla, that got taken illegally.

I've been watching how people have been mobilising themselves, in America against ICE, with most of the footage I see coming from L.A.
People are beginning to rise up. To come together. Even with all the propaganda in place to drive us apart. Driving us to hate one another. To focus more on our differences, instead of focusing on the fact that we are all just humans trying to make our way in the world.

Things are heating up, all over the world, it's hard not to feel it and not want to do something. Get involved, be part of this movement of humans, that can't just sit back and watch. Actions can take many different forms, mine right now is awareness. I'm certainly not in any position to March to Gaza, so I do what I can from my little corner of the world. Promoting Peace, promoting awareness, raising my girls, using my voice.
