I Voted and I'm Sick About It!

I usually don't get political on here but I just finished voting and I'm mad as hell. For the first time in my life I actually left the polling statioin nauseous. Yes, the candidate selection literally made me want to puke! For the first time in my life I didn't even want to cast a vote.

Before everyone gets all uptight I should state I'm a staunch Libertarian. Last election I voted republican for the first time AGAINST Hillary Clinton, not FOR Trump. IMHO Trump won because the alternative was so terrible. A career politician who was seeped in controversy and surrounded by allegations of corruption. I had to vote against her! I was an anyone but her guy!

When I left the polling station four years ago, I felt like a bit of a sellout, but I was genuinely happy I voted against Hillary Clinton. It was the first time I hadn't voted Libertarian. When the results started pouring in and looked like a landslide I literally danced around the living room.

After 4 years of Trump I can honestly say I just don't like the guy. I didn't like him before the election, but I liked him better than Hillary. I'll admit I do agree with some of his policies, but I don't like the way the guy carries himself, He's not only unpresidential, but extremely unprofessional in the way he carries himself... And that smug attitude, orange complexion, and ridiculous hair. Yeah, I WENT THERE!

I don't know if a democratic presidency would have handled corona virus any differently. I suppose that aspect of this election is extremely debatable. I don't want to see my country shut down and destroyed financially. I know several people who tested Covid positive and EVERY single one of them said they had common colds that were much worse, including my 80 years old aunt. We were in a Covid hotspot in NY state, the hospitals weren't overrun and we lost one neighbor who was very old and very sick. The regular flu probably would of killed this guy. He was a regular customer in our family owned community retail store. So yes, I get some people with compromised immune systems need to stay home and take extra precautions. The rest of us need to be extra careful and get on with our lives. There are complications but this isn't the black plague. We're not ALL going to die. Most of us will live to fight another day. In the meantime we need to put food on our tables and live our lives. So I'm sure I'll get flamed for some of my views on this, seriously, just don't. My point is. I was OK with Trump up until this point and I don't think a democrat president would of done much differently. Let's not play the debatable finger pointing game of party politics with Corona Virus.

Trump lost me at the handling of the Black Lives Matter movement. Again, my views on this are complex. I am so against the looting of small business and burning down privately owned businesses. The way the movement was hijacked, and what came with it was atrocious. However there is no doubt that there is an issue with police violence in this country and it has to stop! Further more I don't think it's a black issue alone. Yes, it affects people of color more, but anyone that grew up in a poor neighborhood knows those bastards hate us all equally. Almost everyone I know has had a run in with an unstable law enforcement officer. Some of these guys should not be on the street. I've blogged about this once before.

Where Trump lost me was with his handling of this situation. This isn't my perspective from the news media. This is my perspective from viewing his actions as a SUPPORTER. He literally instigated and inflamed the situation through social media. I actually scratched my head one night and asked myself, "Is he a Russian agent?"... He couldn't possibly be this stupid and out of touch with reality. He literally instigated the riots and I haven't been able to look at the guy the same since. He needed to try and unite the country. He needed to try and calm everyone down and instead he instigated and inflamed what was happening. On top of that the situation is far from over, although I suspect the agenda will cool down in the media once the election is over. Only to be pulled out again the next time either party needs to pull the race card and further divide us.

Which leads me to today. I wanted to vote against Trump so bad and they ran Creepy Joe Biden against him. A candidate half the internet refers to as Creepy Joe. Not only that, they ran him against a socialist, a gay mayor, and an almost unknown woman. I need to disclaim myself here, I have nothing against gay mayors, woman candidates and honestly I would have been interested to hear what the socialist had to say and may have even voted for him. I really liked Yang too and thought he was the most interested democratic candidate. IMHO, the democrats knew none of these candidates stood a chance in middle America. It was a sham selection from the start to give us Creepy Joe Biden. I also think they rigged the primaries again somehow to screw the democratic socialist candidate like they did the previous election. These people are heartless. Joe Biden was like fourth place in the primaries then suddenly he started winning everywhere. IDK, somethings wrong there. Can't prove it, just throwing it out there and feel strongly about it. They just got better at it since the Wasserman Schultz / Clinton debacle.

Last election they wanted either a Bush or a Clinton elected president and they got Trump because people are so sick of these career politician clowns. This year they gave us Joe Biden and as I write this I almost feel like they deserve another 4 years of the Trump shit show! He's not one of them and that's why they hate him so much! He's not playing ball and they can't have that.

In the end I voted for the Libertarian candidate, with my heart. I voted for the party that best shared my political ideology and values. I voted against Trump and Biden. I didn't select the lesser of two evils. It was my feel good vote. Honestly, I don't think there are any right choices in this election. Some people will probably get mad but where there wasn't a libertarian choice I wrote in Mickey Mouse. Whoever you voted for, I hope you voted with your heart and what was right for you. That's another thing we need to ALL realize. These politicians aren't worth fighting over. They don't even deserve that amount of energy from us. They've all taken part in dividing us. Make no mistake about it.

We need serious political change in the United States. We're no longer united, these career politicians have us all separated. Nothing changes regardless of what party we elect. Each one still carries on the agenda of the last. We have growing totalitarianism, a growing police state, a growing prison industrial complex, a growing military industrial complex. These career politicians no longer represent "We the people"... They represent Washington lobbyists and corporate America. They don't care about you or I. BOTH PARTIES ARE EQUALLY GUILTY!

So, yeah I voted. I got my silly sticker and can smugly say I fulfilled my duty as a citizen of this once great nation. But lets not kid ourselves. If you think this shit show is going to improve with either of these candidates you're just kidding yourself. NO MATTER WHO WINS, WE THE PEOPLE WILL ALL LOSE TODAY!

If my views have offended you, I apologize. This post was really about me venting. I had to get this off my chest. I am sick and tired of this two party system. I'm sick of a law, ordinance, permit and tax for everything. I'm sick and tired of being free to behave as you tell me. Not FREE. I'm sick of the drug war. I'm sick of high taxes in support of a government that craps all over us. We need to vote every one of these politicians out. We need to put an end to career politicians and DEMAND shorter term limits for congress and the senate. We need to DEMAND real change, not just make it a rallying cry when it's convenient. We need to ask ourselves what is freedom and adhere to the guidelines of the constitution. The founding fathers were brilliant in the designing of the framework of this country and these current politicians are slowly whittling away and eroding those safeguards and frameworks.

I could go on and on. Sorry for the rant and if you read this far, thanks for reading. I'll be getting flamed by all sides on this post. Please don't unfollow me, it will probably be four more years before I write anything like this again. We now return to our regularly scheduled programming. 🤣
