Downes Bowl with my wife today. My Actifit Report Card: August 13 2023

I'm not the only person in the house who thinks mornings start way too early.

But have to start the day and the dog needs to start it with a walk.

However, instead of his normal walk today my wife and I took him around Downes Bowl here in Abbotsford.

We finally had a day off together so spend it together with the dog.

Now Downes Bowl isn't a very challenging walk but it is 4km with a couple of steep parts.

Unfortunately the trail was washed out in one place so we didn't get to do the entire loop.

Now you might think that the steep parts are the hardest part of the journey. Honestly though they are tiring but not that difficult. Just power through it and get on with the journey.

It was the downhill portions that were more challenging. With the dusty trail and poor footing we went down very slowly. We were worried about slipping and falling. Holding onto a dog that likes to pull and chase things didn't make things any easier.

The heat made my wife grumpy. I asked her to turn around and take a picture. She was thinking of giving me a one finger salute but after a moment she decided two fingers was more appropriate :)

Then again, when there was a giant boulder I got a "take me a picture" from my wife. As always I correct her on her grammar...don't think she'll ever learn that one though.

After that park it was off to Shoppers Drug Mart for their regular weekend sale on Coca-Cola. Unfortunately Coca Cola always tends to sell out quickly. Pepsi is also the same price and there always seems to be some of that left.

Does Pepsi just have a better supply chain or is there another reason??? Hmmm.....

Now we were supposed to go to the gym after that and I was all set to get some more steps.

But my mother-in-law had prepared a lot of food for their town Fiesta day (no they aren't in the Philippines right now but they still celebrate. With all the family and friends over my wife decided it wasn't the best time to go for the gym.

We spent the afternoon with family and friends before finally taking the dog for his evening walk around a different park. With some quality time watching a K-Drama on Netflix in the evening.

Overall a pretty decent day..

.... even if I accidently posted this without completing it so I had to come back later and edit it.

I hate editing but need to get my 5 photo's in for my daily post ;)
