If you had one wish to make, and that wish would come true, what would that be? Tell us what it is and why you would make such a wish. We would love to know.

"...Be careful what you wish for. "

This topic is quite a tricky one, and one thing struck me here. It is something that has been in my heart ever since I was able to differentiate my right from left. If I could just rub a magical kettle, I'd wish to be a good-attracting President of my country. I believe this is still one wish though. It just basically means one that attracts anything good around them. You may be wondering what brought about that species of being a President. You'd understand by the end of this post.

My dear country Nigeria has always been said by those who have gone before us to be one flowing with milk and honey - as if others may not be flowing with that! But over the years, with what I have been seeing that goes on around me and the history I have read so far since I became older, it just seems at times that it was all false. This is because, here and in the world at large, only a small percentage of the population are actually swimming in the said milk and honey. Even when we have politicians promise us even more than what was said to be flowing and then finally get into power, they do not even come close to creating a solid milk/honey let alone for it to melt and flow!!

Every day as I walk through the streets I see the poor state of the lower class against what is portrayed publicly. Being a President comes with a colossal deal of responsibilities which could imply that one may not even have a little time for yourself. And also, reading through history I see that, at times, not all politicians seeking political offices have entirely bad hearts. Even a good-hearted one who succeeds in getting an office still has to battle with other people in the caliber of offices making up the government. There are people from Ministries, Agencies, Levels of government, etc. who could, in a twinkle of an eye, topple the goodwill of your mind or even frustrate you enough to just turn a blind eye to what you may have had in mind all along.

As a President, I will dedicate my entire administration to improving the lives of our citizens through a number of means. One of which is to combat the rate of inflation which had been going up and up from time immemorial. I think one of the ways to do so is by decreasing imports and making extensive use of our manpower here to produce goods and services for our consumption and exportation. This simultaneously will produce jobs and revenue for the government.

Another is to make access to quality healthcare free. Because most times when I go out I see people with some kind of illness begging for alms either to survive or to sum up money for treatments and all. I feel bad when I see them and be like, can't something be done! Although truthfully speaking, I know it is because I am still in the neighborhood and not yet engulfed in a web of responsibilities, that is why I see those things.

But these, and many more, are where the attraction of good things comes in. Good things include good advisers, good collaborators, good investors ...just good people and things in short. Because being a President, you can not make decisions on your own, except on rare cases of an executive order though. So this is why if one attracts good people with good hearts they would be the shield of the government against external bad intentions.

Now you see why the clause "..a good-attracting.." came in handy and carefully. And I believe what I wish for here is just a chance to better the lives of the citizens in my country.
