Stranger than Fiction

An act of domestic terrorism.
Perhaps many people have already seen the video of the police shooting a woman in Minneapolis by ICE agents in the US, but it is pretty incredible that it is already being called self-defence by the government, including the president. There are at least two angles filmed of it and in neither of them does it look like it was an act of self-defence, nor necessary to shoot at all.
Will there be riots?

I get that the average American's view of daily life likely contains none of this and that the media that reaches the international audience gives a sensationalised view of what is going on, but isn't there some sense of "this is crazy" felt by the average citizen? It all just seems so dystopic, with each day looking to outdo the previous by ramping up the insanity.
And what is going to be interesting now, is if there are riots and demonstrations, they will be leveraged into becoming violent, so that the "radical left" can be blamed and more force can be justified. Because, any violence, any action at all, will now be labelled "an act of domestic terrorism", and can face the same treatment as that woman in the car.
Defend the country against terrorists!
With terrorists being anyone who disagrees with the government. Which is pretty much the way Putin has operated in Russia over the last two decades. Yet, the government is behaving in exactly the way many Trump supporters claim as their reasoning for carrying firearms - to protect against an authoritarian, unconstitutional government. For example, taking Maduro without congressional clearance, breaks the constitution. This sets up a bit of a conundrum, doesn't it?
2nd Amendment:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed".
The problem is that these amendments are part of the constitution, but if some parts of the constitution are allowed to be broken, then all the parts of the constitution aren't worth the paper they are written upon. Any of them can be broken by the government, whenever it is convenient for them to do so. And this should strike fear into the opinions of all the people who support Trump, because he doesn't care about the constitution or the law, which means that all those who believe themselves protected by their "rights", aren't protected at all. The only thing "protecting" them currently, is that it isn't yet convenient or necessary to act against those groups.
First they came...
And I did not speak out.
Laws themselves change all of the time, but if there is one thing that should be accepted, is that governments should not break the law. If people working in the government break the law and aren't prosecuted for their actions, that is corruption. And when people accept corruption from their government, then that is supporting a corrupt regime. It is little different to the Russian oligarchs who systematically stole nearly all of the assets of the country, or the actions of Putin to protect the theft, of which he was a large part.
Over the years, there have been many contentious police shootings. For example, George Floyd was shot and killed in Minneapolis in 2020, not far from where this woman was shot tonight. However, what is obviously different in this case has been the response of the government, where they have immediately justified the shooting as clean. Trump stated the woman "viciously ran over the ICE Officer" - which obviously didn't happen according to the video. It is undisputable propaganda from literally the highest level of the US government. There was no "we will investigate", there were no "condolences to those affected" - it was just coverup damage control.
I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch. The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense. Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital. The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis. They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE. We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate!
From the President of the US.
If we saw this in film at the cinema, perhaps with some old white actor like Gene Hackman playing the president, who would you side with? But this isn't a movie, this shit is actually happening in real life, publicly, broadcast globally. It is like the US government has watched too many movies, and are acting on what they have seen. Maybe Trump sees himself as a president in a Tom Clancy novel.
The truth is stranger than fiction.
Do you like living in this movie?
