Silokek Geopark is located in Jorong Tanjung Medan, Nagari Silokek, Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra Province.
This geopark area is relatively large, because it covers more than 1,300 km² and is located in 2 sub-districts, namely Sijunjung and Sumpur Kudus. It was inaugurated as a Geopark on February 8 2018 and officially holds the status of a National Geopark (earth park area), as of Friday (30/11/2018). Until now, it is still being improved.
The Ranah Minang Silokek Geopark has geological advantages, has a traditional village, has a Rajo Ibadat museum and library, there is another Biology Center located in the Paru area.
It is not difficult to get to this natural tourist attraction. It only takes about 15 minutes from the center of the capital city of Sijunjung (Muaro Sijunjung) with a distance of only about 16 km. During the trip, visitors are also presented with a winding road. However, vehicle access is quite good with smooth asphalt.

The Ranah Minang Silokek Geopark has very exotic natural beauty and is able to attract the attention of local and foreign tourists, such as the Ngalau Cigak nature tourism. Here visitors can enjoy the flow of the underground river and the beauty of the stalactites, around the ngalau they will be greeted by a herd of tame monkeys, usually this herd of monkeys will sit in a row to wait for the food given by the visitors.
In this area there are three waterfall locations, namely, Palukahan waterfall, Palange waterfall, and Taye waterfall, which can also be used as a bathing place. Usually before entering the fasting month, this waterfall location is visited a lot.
Pasir Putih tourist attraction, on the edge of the river you will see a beach that has sand which we usually find on the beach on the sea or on an island, but in Silokek it turns out we also find white sand on the edge of Batang Kuantan which is beautiful and beautiful, like the existing beach in Island.

For visitors whose hobbies are white water rafting and rock climbing, the strong Batang Kuantan stream that flows along the Silokek district and the steep rocks of the hills, visitors can test their adrenaline here, because the river that flows for 38 km is included in the level III difficulty category.
Geologically, the rocks in the Ranah Minang Silokek Geopark area are approximately 359 million years old. The presence of the Ranah Minang Silokek Geopark complements two other Geoparks that previously existed in West Sumatra, namely the Ngarai Sianok Geopark in Agam Regency and the Sawahlunto Geopark in Sawahlunto City.
The facilities provided are quite supportive, there is a place for selfies, a prayer room and toilets. There is also a separate parking area before entering the Silokek area deeper. Several gazebos for shelter while walking. Open Monday – Sunday open from 07.00 – 18.00.
This tourist area is still under development so as of March 2020 there has been no determination of the entrance ticket price. There are tour packages with various activities and prices. This location has been marked on Google Maps to make it easier to find the location.
