Little Spirit - Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 254 | Entry [ENG/ESP]

Hello friends and community, a beautiful day to all. The truth is I don’t know if my photo is good enough to participate in this contest, but it does have a story behind it that I would like to share. My entry shows, almost blurred, a very common bird in my land that many call “verdón” (greenfinch).

Curiously, when this bird molts its feathers it stops being green and begins to have red and blue colors, and people start calling it “mariposa” (butterfly bird), perhaps because that transformation reminds them of chrysalises or perhaps because of the new and striking colors. I captured this image in an abandoned industrial area, and I think it makes a nice contrast between all the metal and the small bird, enclosed and at the same time free among fences, metals, wires, and meshes. It is the fragile together with the rigid. I captured this image using a vintage filter with my mobile phone, the filter is inspired by the old Super 8 cameras, and I think this gives the photograph a totally different air, more nostalgic and more of those fortuitous coincidences. As if the scene and the photograph itself were a fragment of a distant time.
Well friends, I hope you at least enjoyed this entry. I hope to return someday with a new and better photo of this bird, this time at a better distance and resolution. From here, as always, my most sincere wishes of much luck and many successes. Bye bye.
