Wednesday Walk - Finally Feeling Winter

Finally the subzero temperatures have arrived for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay

My daughter was getting major cabin fever so I had to take her out while we were getting hit by the huge storm that decimated the lower states.

It is kind of nice when it is all snowy out. Everything quiets down and the snow kind of insulates everything for a while making things warmer.

My daughter really loved making footprints. I'll have to make sure to quarantine these boots at the door to not ruin the floor later on.

Now that it has snowed this alleyway looks a bit different, might be a nice charcoal pencil study later on with a creature in the middle.

We scoped out plenty of unstepped on snow areas to make footprints.

Here is a little dollhouse in one of the shop windows. Much too intricate and delicate for my daughter, it is more of a suburbanite 40k model.

Meanwhile on the way to Chicago they had to set the switches on fire to keep them from freezing.

Quite a bit more snow downtown, as you can see it coating the bridges. Probably at least 4 inches, nothing compared to Wisconsin or Vermont but still annoying enough.

I accidentally wore my tennis shoes and ended up almost slipping on this polluted snow.

As usual the bridges are the most treacherous, just don't lift up your feet and slide walk to avoid biffing and tumbling down into the river.

The pigeons are surviving somehow. I suspect they manage to get into the bridge houses somehow to keep warm.

Plus someone always dumps a bunch of feed here too. I'll post a video in feathered friends on these guys for #featheredfriday.

The river is finally freezing over, eventually it might finally freeze over in my part of the city but for now it is just growing from Chinatown.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
