“ If you really want to eat, keep climbing. The fruits are on the top of the tree. Stretch your hands and keep stretching them. Success is on the top, keep going.”-Israelmore Ayivor
Hello Hive Friends !!!
How are you today? Hope you are fine and doing well. We know we are surrounded by the beautiful creation of God. What we should do is, we should appreciate and take care of them because they will do something good back to us.
This is my entry on #34 the Love of Fruit Challenge of Asean Hive authored by @justinparke. As I read the challenge I am thinking of what fruits I have to blog and here they are. Allow me to share some experiences about the following fruits.
Banana
We belong to not a wealthy family but we do our best to live. My late mother was a Fish vendor and my father was a fisherman. When I was still in grade school and my brother was in High School, for us to survive the daily expenses including the allowances, my mother used to sell bananas. What she did was, she sliced them into a Pinaypay (fan formed) and mixed it with flour, and fried them after. We used to call this Banana Cue and we sell it for five pesos each pair.
Bananas also are fruits that we can send to our relatives from the City. They visited us sometimes and then if they will return to the City they will bring a sack full of bananas. We could not offer anything more only the banana that we can harvest beside our house. We were not ashamed of this fruit because this has vitamins that help our body to function normally, especially when you consumed and eat it fresh and uncooked. It improves metabolism.
There were several types of bananas but we only have three types, The Saba, the Cardaba, and the Lakatan.
Coconut
All parts of the coconut tree are important. Its trunk is used to build houses, its leaves are used as a roof, and its fruits are mostly needed by those who were newly giving birth because they could produce more milk, especially when breastfeeding.
Coconut fruits are very useful because as my grandfather said they could cure those who are suffering from kidney diseases also this fruit is yummier, especially if it is newly harvested.
Buongon Fruit ( Pomelo )
Buongon is a Filipino term, a well-known fruit, and also it has green leaves with thorns on their branches. We have this in our backyard which tastes a little bit sour and more on its sweetness. These fruits are full of Vitamin C and their fruit skin is used to soften the human skin. What should we do? just peel off the skin of the buongon and slowly wiped them to your skin, your arms, your legs, and your neck.
Papaya
Papaya is commonly known as a fruit to eat when you are having constipation and it has vitamins and fiber too. Unripe papaya was used to heal those who are suffering from tonsilitis.
Papayas can also be an ingredient on a viand. Like if you cooked Tinolang Manok (Chicken stew) you can add unripe papaya it smells so good. Papayas also are advised to eat especially for those who were breastfeeding. This fruit's presence as an ingredient of a dish surely tastes yummy. Oh? I am thinking of what to cook today😀
These were the fruits that we have in our Backyard which have many health benefits. We just need to take care of them like how we take good care of ourselves.
Thank you for reading until here my hive friends. I hope that this inspires you and hope for your support on this entry. Thank you and to God be the Glory.
