Spending Money on Free Games? My Little Reflection [ENG/ESP]

This is one of those posts that come out of nowhere. I wasn't planning to talk about this, as it's not usually my style. However, for a few days now I have had a thought running around in my head and it seemed like a good idea to delve deeper and talk a bit here about that thought. It all has to do with Free to play games and how it has changed my perspective about them.
For as long as I can remember, I've always had the philosophy that, if a game is free, why would I spend money on it? To advance faster? I don't care, to get a new character? I don't care, because it's too Pay to win? I don't care either, I'd rather not play it. Spending money on a free game is something that seemed very strange to me, especially when some of my friends did it.
However, over time my thinking has evolved. Nowadays I don't think it's so 'crazy' to spend some money on a free game that you like, to explain myself better I'll give the following example: Marvel Snap is a free game that I met more than a year ago and managed to hook me a lot. Currently I have more than 1500 hours of gameplay and I usually enter every day to play a couple of games. Since I started playing I had not spent anything on this game, but one day came a new season with cards and characters that I really liked. At that moment I decided to pay for the battle pass.
If many games cost you 10$/15$/20$ and give you between 15 or 20 hours of entertainment, why not spend 5$ or 10$ in a free game that maybe has given you 30 or 40 hours of fun? By this I don't mean that now I like pay to win or pay to fast systems. I just think that, if the game has managed to entertain you for so long without spending a cent, it's not bad if one day you feel like spending some money on it.
To give another example before finishing; I've been hooked on AFK Journey for a few weeks now. It's been a long time since an online game (not counting Marvel Snap) entertained me so much, by the time I write this I will have more than 30 hours and every day I enter to play with great desire. I haven't spent anything and I don't intend to do it because I don't like the gacha system, but if in a few months I'm still hooked and I like the evolution of the game, I may be encouraged to spend a little, but that will be seen in the future.
But well, I wanted to talk about this because it's a curious topic that I've been thinking about for days, maybe partly because of AFK Journey. Besides, I would also like to know your opinions about my little reflection. Do you agree with me? Have you spent money on any free game? Do you think it's a silly thing to do?

Esta es una de esas publicaciones que nacen de la nada. No tenía pensado hablar sobre esto, ya que no suele ser mi estilo. Sin embargo, desde hace unos días tengo un pensamiento rondando mi cabeza y me pareció buena idea profundizar y hablar un poco aquí sobre dicho pensamiento. Todo esto tiene que ver con los juegos Free to play y el como ha cambiado mi perspectiva acerca de ellos.
Desde que tengo memoria, siempre he tenido la filosofía de que, si un juego es gratis ¿Por qué voy a gastarme dinero en él? ¿Para avanzar más rápido? No me interesa ¿Para obtener un nuevo personaje? Me da igual ¿Por qué es muy Pay to win? Tampoco me interesa, prefiero no jugarlo. El gastar dinero en un juego gratuito es algo que me parecía muy extraño, sobre todo cuando algunos de mis amigos lo hacían.
No obstante, a lo largo del tiempo mi pensamiento ha evolucionado. Actualmente no me parece tan ‘descabellado’ el gastar algo de dinero en un juego gratuito que te guste, para explicarme mejor pondré el siguiente ejemplo: Marvel Snap es un juego gratuito que conocí hace más de un año y logró engancharme muchísimo. Actualmente tengo más de 1500 horas de juego y suelo entrar cada día a jugar un par de partidas. Desde que comencé a jugar no me había gastado nada en este juego, pero, un día llegó una nueva temporada con cartas y personajes que me gustaban mucho. En ese momento decidí pagar por el pase de batalla.
Y es que, si muchos juegos te cuestan 10$/15$/20$ y te brindan entre 15 o 20 horas de entretenimiento ¿Por qué no gastarse 5$ o 10$ en un juego gratuito que quizás te ha dado 30 o 40 horas de diversión? Con esto no quiero decir que ahora me gusten los sistemas pay to win o pay to fast. Simplemente creo que, si el juego ha logrado divertirte por tanto tiempo sin gastar ni un céntimo, no está mal si un día te dan ganas de gastar un poco de dinero en él.
Para dar otro ejemplo antes de acabar; Desde hace unas semanas llevo enganchadísimo a AFK Journey. Hace mucho que un juego en línea (sin contar Marvel Snap) no me entretenía tanto, para cuando escribo esto llevaré más de 30 horas y cada día entro a jugar con muchas ganas. No me he gastado nada y no tengo intenciones de hacerlo porque no termina de gustarme el sistema gacha, pero si dentro de unos cuantos meses sigo enganchado y la evolución del juego me gusta, puede que me anime a gastar un poco, pero eso se verá a futuro.
Pero bueno, quería hablar sobre esto porque es un tema curioso que tenía dando vueltas en la cabeza desde hace días, quizás en parte por culpa del AFK Journey. Además, también me gustaría conocer sus opiniones acerca de mi pequeña reflexión ¿Están de acuerdo conmigo? ¿Se han gastado dinero en algún juego gratuito? ¿Creen que es algo tonto hacerlo?
