I invite you to explore a selection of fresh tunes, fourth this year. Discover new music styles and sounds, and be enchanted by soundscapes from around the globe.

IGORRR - LIMBO
IGORRR, or Gautier Serre, is a French multi-instrumentalist whom I have mentioned several times in #newtunes. He has recently attracted significant attention in music circles for his unique approach, which disregards styles and genres.
His latest album, Amen, was released in September last year. Although the album is not "new," I am mentioning it here because of the song "Limbo," which he released a few days ago with an official video featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the recording.
A mixture of classical music, avant-garde metal, breakcore, and opera. I hope to see him live soon.
Crippled Black Phoenix - Ravenettes
Crippled Black Phoenix is a new name to me; they are based in Bristol, UK. They were formed in 2004 and have released several EPs and 13 albums to date. The band is more of a collective or project than a permanent lineup, as it changes over time. Musically, they operate in the progressive rock space, with gothic and doom elements, and post-rock influences.
The song Ravenettes is a single and a preview of their new album, Sceaduhelm, which will be released in April. Minimalistic and dark post-rock with a tense rhythm.
Black Label Society - Name In Blood
Black Label Society, or BLS, is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles. It was founded in 1998 by Zakk Wylde, Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist.
They have released 11 studio albums.
Their trademarks are heavy metal with southern rock influences, powerful guitar riffs, and lyrics about life, struggle, alcohol, loyalty, and death.
The song 'Name in Blood' is a preview of their new album, Engines of Demolition, which will be released in March.
ROB ZOMBIE - (I'm a) Rock'N'Roller
Rob Zombie, or Robert Cummings, is an American musician and composer, also known as the frontman of the New York band White Zombie. He has been working independently since 1998 and has released seven studio albums.
The song (I'm a) Rock 'N' Roller is a single from his new album, The Great Satan, which will be released at the end of March. It is a classic hard rock or horror metal song that proclaims the mantra 'rock & roll is here to stay.'
Julianne Barwick & Mary Lattimore - The Four Sleeping Princesses
Julianne Barwick, vocalist, composer, and producer, and Mary Lattimore, harpist, are American musicians whose first joint project, the album Tragic Magic, was recorded in Paris during a visit to the musical instrument museum at the Paris Philharmonic. The Roland Jupiter analog synthesizer from the 1980s and a harp from 1728 were the main instruments. The harmony of harps, vocals, and synthesizers creates accessible, melodic music that offers an ambient sound for a wide audience.
The song The Four Sleeping Princesses was released two weeks ago and is part of the project's promotion. Music critics describe it as a fairytale-style song, neo-classical, new-age minimalism with a dreamy atmosphere.
J. R. August - Human
J.R.August or Nikola Vranić is a Croatian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. He is one of the most respected musicians of the younger generation in the region. His style is distinctly personal and introspective, with emotional vocals and a mix of influences from rock, soul, jazz, and classical music. He has released three albums to date, the latest, Deep Waters, released today.
The song "Human" from his latest album is intimate and vulnerable, exploring fragility, mistakes, self-doubt, and self-acceptance as an imperfect being.
The James Hunter Six - Gun Shy
James Hunter from Essex is one of the most respected British soul singers and singer-songwriters. He has collaborated with many famous names, including Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin, and Etta James.
The James Hunter Six is his regular band, with a tight, retro sound featuring a brass section, organ, guitar, and his sweet growl. He has released seven studio albums with the band.
The song Gun Shy is from his latest album, Off The Fence, a love ballad about nervousness and fear when approaching someone you like. Retro groove, fresh, but with a vintage feel.
The HU - The Real You
The HU is a Mongolian band from Ulaanbaatar and the only one I know from that region. Founded in 2016, they are often described as pioneers of the Hunnu Rock genre, a blend of traditional Mongolian music and modern metal. With their unique sound - throat singing, traditional Mongolian instruments, powerful drums, and heavy riffs - they are a first-rate concert attraction.
They have released two albums to date, and their live performance of "The Real You" is a preview of their new, as-yet-untitled album.
