Into the land of the dinos ( The bookshop adventure story 2)

The small boy's name was Thomas, and the bookshop owner was Mary. Thomas loved to stay with Mary. She used to read him stories at bedtime. A few days after his first adventure, Mary told Thomas that it was time for their second trip into the world of books and that she would accompany him this time. Thomas agreed.

Mary closed the shop, and together, they went near a bookshelf that had adventure stories on it like Moby Dick, dinosaur tales and so on. Thomas chose the dinosaur book. Mary was a bit scared and asked him if he was sure. Thomas was very excited. He opened the book and held Mary's hand. Suddenly, Mary felt she was becoming smaller and stepped into a grassy meadow. She could see a small door and realised that it was the gateway back to the real world. She decided to tie a red scarf on a tree next to the door to identify it.

Thomas and Mary walked a bit and tried to find out if there were any humans around. She had read that humans did not coexist with dinosaurs and all the Jurassic movies were just stories. Thomas pointed out a cave and they decided to check it out. Mary had brought a torch with her and also a small gun just in case. She lit the torch, and to their amazement, they saw that the walls of the cave had drawings made by humans. There were figures of a man and a woman holding a baby and being chased by some strange creatures. The woman leaves the baby in a house, and they leave for a land covered in snow. This was a clue that Thomas's parents must have left for him in case he came searching. Both of them decided to look into a land of snow on their next adventure.

Meanwhile, they heard a huge thump and looked at each other. They had to escape whatever was coming for them. Mary grabbed Thomas and ran out of the cave, and before them stood a huge dinosaur. Was it a T Rex? They did not stay to find out and ran like they had never before. The dino looked at them and stood confused. It had never seen such tiny creatures before. They were probably just small creatures with no bite to it.

Thomas and Mary saw a small lake and to their surprise, there was a small hut on the bank. They went in and found that it was deserted. There were rotten fruits on a makeshift stool and grass was creeping inside. There was a small towel with an embroidered T. Thomas took it and was sure it belonged to his parents. Mary hugged him and assured him that they would try and find his parents.

Mary and Thomas then went out and started to look for the door. It was no use searching for his parents in this land, they felt. All of a sudden, they could see a small dino rushing towards them, and they ran as fast as they could, and Mary could see the red scarf in the distance. They barely made it through the door, and the dino tried to come through it too, but Thomas was quick to shut the book. Mary and Thomas rested for a while before opening the bookshop. Thomas kept the cloth carefully in his bag.
