Fantastic Mr.Fox (2009) review: What the cuss?

I think there are few sensations in the world more pleasant than finding a "perfect" movie, an experience where each of its elements work like gears for a solid mechanism where its purpose (whatever it may be) is easily achieved.

**A few days ago I was talking in this community about "The Grand Budapest Hotel", a film by Wes Anderson that I used as a starting point to delve into his filmography... As expected I felt enchanted by everything, the music, the photography, each dialogue and performance... But I admit that for me at least something else was lacking

However, this audiovisual spectacle was enough to make me feel like I should see all his other films, which I am very grateful for considering that this allowed me to stumble across Fantastic Mr. Fox, a work that unexpectedly won my heart in a way that A movie hadn't done it for a long time.

How? Taking advantage of its own format to tell a fun, fast and full of love story.

You see, Fantastic Mr. Fox is a film made with stop-motion animation that was released in 2009, in it we follow the story of a fox (A Mr.Fox, btw, Played by George Clooney) who finds himself in trouble when three evil farmers declare war on him as a result of several of the robberies he committed with his friend.

This premise that we could not define as anything more than "picturesque" serves to introduce us to a wonderful world where anthropomorphic animals and human beings coexist without giving up those dynamics to which we are accustomed in the real world, thus giving the entire film a surreal but always familiar finish.

Apart from being filmed with a sick level of attention to detail (something that is undoubtedly greatly appreciated when it comes to stop motion animation), Fantastic Mr. Fox is a film that works from many angles, be it as a heist movie with elements of black humor, a hilarious family drama, or why not? A solid slapstick movie.

For me it is quite difficult to try to synthesize why exactly I love it, in some way or another, I feel that it has to do with the way in which it applies its medium to tell a unique story, an example of how animation truly has no limits.

Creo que hay pocas sensaciones en el mundo más placenteras que encontrarte con una película "perfecta", una experiencia en dónde cada uno de sus elementos funcionan como engranajes para un mecanismo sólido en dónde su propósito (Cualquiera que sea) se alcanza con facilidad.

Hace unos días les hablaba un poco sobre "The Grand Budapest Hotel", una película de Wes Anderson que utilizaba como punto de partida para adentrarme con su filmografía... Cómo era de esperarse me sentía encantado por todo, la música, la fotografía, cada dialogo y performance... Pero admito que para mí al menos hacía falta algo.

No obstante, este espectáculo audiovisual fue suficiente como para hacerme sentir que debía ver todas sus demás películas, algo que agradezco muchísimo considerando que esto me permitió toparme con Fantastic Mr.Fox, una obra que inesperadamente se ganó mi corazón de una forma en la que una película no lo lograba desde hace muchísimo tiempo.

¿Cómo? Aprovechando su propio formato para narrar una historia divertida, rápida y llena de amor.

Verán, Fantastic Mr. Fox es una película realizada con animación stop-motion que se estrenó en el 2009, en ella seguimos la historia de un zorro (Interpretado por George Clooney) que se ve metido en aprietos cuando tres granjeros malignos le declaran la guerra como consecuencia de varios robos cometidos.

Está premisa que no podríamos definir como algo más que "pintoresca" sirve para presentarnos un mundo maravilloso en dónde animales antropomorficos y seres humanos coexisten sin renunciar a aquellas dinámicas a las que estamos acostumbrados en el mundo real, brindandole así a toda la película un acabado surrealista pero siempre familiar.

Aparte de estar filmada con un nivel de cuidado a los detalles enfermizo (Algo que sin duda se aprecia muchísimo cuando se trata de animación en stop motion), Fantastic Mr.Fox es una película que funciona desde muchísimos ángulos, ya sea como una heist movie con elementos de humor negro, un hilarante drama familiar, o por qué no? Una sólida slapstick movie.

Para mí es bastante complicado tratar de sintetizar por qué exactamente la amo, de alguna forma u otra, siento que tiene que ver con la manera en la que aplica su medio para narrar una historia única, una muestra de como la animación no tiene limites.
