BIBLE TEXT: Psalm 125:1-5
KEY VERSE:
They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abides for ever (Psalm 125:1).
INTRODUCTION:
Jerusalem is known in history as the center of the world. The climate shows its significance. The Almighty Jehovah is interested in the city of Jerusalem. Jehovah claimed Jerusalem as His own, of course, the earth is the Lord's and fullness thereon. The security of the land is divine. The Almighty Jehovah planned the geography of the city different from other cities. The Almighty Jehovah surrounded the city with mountains and hills. The mountains and hills were packed with great rocks and stones. The reason might be that He admires that place and always wants to visit there.
THE PSALMIST'S OBSERVATION:
Now the psalmist draws analogy from the interest God Almighty placed on the city of Jerusalem by saying that Whosoever loves the Almighty God, God will transfer the same interest He has on Jerusalem to such an individual.
THEY THAT TRUST IN THE LORD:
That means, those who have confidence and reliance in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, fully secured which cannot be removed, but such will abides forever (Psalm 125:1).
THEY ARE LIKE THE MOUNTAIN OF ZION:
Mountains are natural setup, they cannot be removed from their place, rather they abide forever.
RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD ALMIGHTY IS THE ONLY THING YOU NEED:
The analogy of the Psalmist is so touching that as mountains surrounded Jerusalem, exactly so the LORD is to His people from now on, even forever (Psalm 125:2).
ALWAYS DO GOOD AT ALL TIMES:
For the Almighty Jehovah will fight for you. Always do good unto all people, God will reward you accordingly, for the Psalmist prayed, asking the Almighty LORD, to do good unto those that are good to others, and to them that are upright, people who love integrity (Psalm 125:4).
THOSE WHO REJECT GOD AND FOLLOW EVIL SHALL NOT SEE GOODNESS:
The Psalmist concluded his prayer by saying that anybody who turns away from the LORD, such shall be led away into hell with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel" (Psalm 125:5).
CONCLUSION:
There is need to do good, be upright, honest, truthful, faithful to God and to humanity. Let peace be unto you in the name of Jesus Christ - Amen.
