IT'S TIME TO RETURN BACK TO YOUR ROOT

📕BIBLE TEXT:

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in Our image, in Our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, [a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground (Genesis 1:26).
 
🔑🔒KEY VERSE:
So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them (Genesis 1:27).

❤️CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
It's quite unfortunate that many (young and old) believe that going back to their root means worshipping the idols their ancestors served with their many demonic practices.

✍️INTRODUCTION:
The real root of every human being is God Almighty. God created human beings in His own image and likeness. Therefore, going back to the root simply means "going back to God, the source and origin of human. Anyone who derailed from God Almighty hates his own life. That calls for this message to alert us to what is the reality of going back to the root.

🥞🖊️MAIN DISCOURSE:
The word "root" is defined as "the basic cause, source or origin of something".

One of the many lies that the devil tells our present generation is that the gospel is the tradition of the western world designed to steal our cultural heritage from us. But this is a big lie from the pit of hell. The gospel is the revelation of God's love towards mankind, which was expressed through Jesus Christ, God in human form (John 1:14).

Perhaps you are being told that going back to your root should mean worshipping graven images, animals and heavenly bodies. According to our text for today, God created us in His own image and likeness. That is your root. Your root is God, and if you must return to your root, you must take on the very character of God.

There is no other being that fully expresses the character and person of God apart from Jesus Christ (God in human form).

Who told you your root is worshipping idols made by man and from trees created by God? Many of our ancestors worshipped snakes and other living and non living creatures. So, does that mean that the things they worshipped were our root?

Hear this: man was in darkness until Christ came, who is the light of the world.

Many of our young people have been deceived into returning to the dark ages when twins were killed because they were believed to be abominations by our ancestors. Creatures were worshipped as gods instead of the God who made the heavens and the earth.

I don't know how deep you have gone into this demonic deception of our age, but you can still repent and return to the only true God who has revealed Himself through His express image (Jesus Christ).

Man was created and was given authority over every other creature; but see how the mighty have fallen. Man now worships animals and other things created by God which were made lower than man in terms of authority. That's very shameful!

Turn from worshipping images made by human hands, animals and other elements God created, and return to worshipping the true and living God by accepting Jesus into your heart.

One day, you'll cry in regret if you refuse to heed this call.
