Struggling to dress up, a major problem I had to overcome

It is always said that you "dress the way you want to be addressed" and this is the reason why humans need to dress decently, neatly, and smartly, especially the ladies. Our world is racing at a fast pace and everything is changing, the morals and way of dressing being inculcated in us while growing up are lost in this present generation. I belong to a society where dressing matters a lot, it tells who you are and there are lots of proverbs, and teachings that surround dressing decently. An indecent dress attracts insults, embarrassment, and some evil acts such as rape. It is just so unfortunate that some parents allowed their wards to dress inappropriately all in the name of showcasing their beauty.

Beauty is the eyes of the beholder, it is not our physical appearance that tells whether we are beautiful or not though it matters but an indecent way of dressing shouldn't be a major determinant of beauty. As a lady, I do struggle to dress up because I put a lot of things in check before deciding on a dress to put on for any occasion or function. As we all know there are different dresses for different purposes, corporate wear for offices, seminars, formal meetings, and sometimes church while native attire is for parties such as wedding ceremonies, etc. I always have to choose what to wear based on where I am going, sometimes combining colors can be a lot more work than you can ever imagine. Knowing different colors that match together is always a problem for me, this is part of the major fact I put in check before dressing to go out.

Another thing I do put in check is the decency of the dress I'm about to wear, the main reason I don't sew or buy clothes I wouldn't be able to wear out. A dress I would have to be checking myself every second to see if no one is looking or commenting negatively on what I'm putting on. I love to dress in a way that I would be able to walk freely not being cautious of anything. I also love to put the environment I'm going to in check, sometimes the environment determines what I will wear to such a place. You can dress decently and still be admired, a decent way of dressing brings out hidden beauty rather than exposing one's body in the name of showcasing beauty.

Picking what to wear without prior planning doesn't work for me, I had to think hard before knowing what to wear at the time. Taking when going to church as an example, I would have been thinking of what to wear since Monday to have a ready plan. I always make sure I have two options in case one doesn't work out if I'm unable to join the service with the choir, I will have to change my dress but anytime I'm to join the choir, it always saves me the stress of choosing what to wear because we would be given a dressing code. Thinking hard before knowing what to wear sometimes affects me, at times it is a waste of time when I have important things to attend to. I do get delayed because I can't pick what to wear on time and to avoid embarrassment and humiliation, I want to dress the way I want to be addressed.
