Hello everyone!
Today, I'm going to share with you one of the most beautiful memories of my university life. " A University tour to Peshawar" where we were invited by the literary society of Iqra University Peshawar for a grand festival of three days.
So, the journey begins at 8 PM from our university Government college university Faisalabad. All the members selected for the competitions for many different modules of the festival like declamation, painting, writing, and singing. I was selected for the English declamation. That was my very first tour with our university society and I was a bit nervous with many unknown people. We headed towards the Peshawar in a Van and all the members were quite jolly and amazing. I really liked their vibes.
We sang a lot of songs together with loud music. And my taste of songs was quite different as I do listen to all kinds of songs and that helps me to enjoy every song they play. We had a stop at Islamabad and we had dinner there. We ate burgers and we introduced ourselves. Then we again started our journey and we reached Peshawar in the morning. It was about 5 AM. We stepped into the capital of KPK. The vibe I got there firstly was quite different from the Punjab. People were asking to have breakfast for free and with a discount because we were their guests. We clicked some pictures there and had a breakfast of paratha, eggs, tea, and channy.
Then we went to the hostel where we were having our reservation. We went there at 7 AM, and the event started at 9 AM. We just got a nap of half an hour and started preparation. At the hostel there were many other students as well from different universities. We were late and they reached there early. We started getting ready, I wore a pent coat with a tie and formal shoes. And after getting ready we went to the university.
I was amazed to see that it was so beautiful and modern. It was different from every other university in Pakistan. We get in and get our cards as participants. We had breakfast there at their cafeteria and started roaming. Some of the members went to the painting and calligraphy competition and we were on the other side. So, my day came and I gave my speech and was selected for the final round. We went to the famous palace of Peshawar for the ' Kabuli pulao ' .
That was so delicious. We were having it for the first time and I loved it very much. We made many pictures over there and I almost ate a lot. Then we came back to the campus where the Qwali night was arranged by the university .
And I was like, I'm in formal dressing and have no black clothes. Anyway, we enjoyed a lot after that there was dinner arranged by the university and that was again Kabuli pulao. And I ate again. In the hostel there was no discrimination all the girls and boys were having fun.
We sang songs, students from Gilgit danced on their culture songs. And we were cycling and the cycle was by the students of the Peshawar. We slept late at night and on the next day some of us got up to iron our clothes. We stepped out of the hostel to the Mini market where we had breakfast and most importantly we had not paid it. They said: ' you children are our guests '. That thing makes me feel fresh.
We went on the next day of the festival where we clicked a lot of pictures and had fun. Then the time came where we had to go back. Because the mid term was started and I left my one paper. And we reached Faisalabad happily and sadly.
Overall, that was the best part of my life.
Thank you so much 😊.
