Daily Haiku - Balanced on a Bamboo Raft

in the breath of life.
This picture took me away to memories of bamboo rafting in the jungles of Thailand near to Chiang Mai. The sunset wasn't as impressive, but the picture really does reflect almost perfectly what it was like to drift down the river in the falling dusk with the cicada screaming and the sun streaming light onto the reflective surface of the water.
I remember thinking that life can be like a journey on a raft at the time. This memory flowed into the Haiku I wrote, which I feel is a reflection on the great unknowable majesty of the universe.
Do you ever get that feeling of looking out at at something of which you can't quite grasp the meaning? The whisper of a mystery, echoing through the cosmos.
These are some of the insights that arose while writing the haiku in response to this image.
I have decided to challenge myself for the next month - until the 02nd of July - to post a daily Haiku on Hive. Each Haiku is based on picture prompts from either Pixabay.com or Unsplash.com.
Thanks for reading 🌿
