The Perfect Balance

If there's one thing I've unknowingly perfected so well, it is finding the right balance between an insult and a joke. I do this thing where I could perfectly insult someone, say things that normally would be considered as mean stuff to someone, and yet still make everyone understand that it's all a joke and just for fun. And I do all of that all at once.

I know that most times, how these kinds of insults are received depends on the person who's at the other end of it, but that is why I said I have perfected it because ever since I've been doing this, I've never gotten to the point where I had someone get upset or try to fight me because of the things I've said.

Rather, they would all laugh at why that person tries to get back at me by saying stuff too. I know insulting someone isn't really a nice way to make a joke, but it is a clever one. Just as long as you don't have Will Smith at the other end of that joke, you will be fine. Lol

But yeah, I have this guy over here who I will always make these jokes at, and surprisingly, having to do that all the time has brought us closer as friends than I thought we would ever be. At this point, I don't even have to think hard for the words to flow out of my mouth because I've gotten used to it, and so has he too.

He never fails to send a return fire; sometimes he's even the one who sends the first shot, and I have to defend myself by firing back.

I will say, though, this is the kind of joke that can only be made between friends because if you do this with a stranger, there's a huge possibility that you could get slapped or beaten by them.

But I guess the reason for today's blog is that I'm just mesmerized by how perfectly balanced I've made this joke so that it doesn't cross an invisible line that I've drawn myself, and yet I still deliver every time. You might not agree with me, but I think it's genius.
