Greetings to all members of the Hive Garden community and our esteemed stakeholders.

In this post, I want to share a post about gardening activities. We have an empty garden plot, which we plan to plant with coffee.

To save money, we sowed our own coffee seeds in front of our house. There's a vacant area in front of our house that could be used for sowing coffee seeds.

The area chosen was one that wasn't directly exposed to sunlight, with several other large plants to provide shade. However, this area shouldn't block the rainwater flow in case it rains.

We have selected several coffee beans for sowing. These coffee beans are hand-picked from several coffee trees on our farm. These are Arabica coffee beans, selected by examining their size and shape.

Large, perfectly oval beans are the preferred choice for sowing. These coffee beans have had their outer red skin removed and are then sun-dried until completely dry.

Once dry, the coffee beans must first have their brown skin removed, leaving only the dark green beans. The green beans that have been dried are the ones that will be used for sowing in polybags.

We have hundreds of coffee beans that must be peeled off the light brown skin. Some of these will be roasted to make coffee grounds. The remaining, the best-quality beans, will be sown as coffee seedlings.

We sowed the seeds in plastic polybags we purchased at the market. These black plastic seedling containers measure 7.5x15 cm, with a diameter of 7.5 cm and a height of 15 cm. This size is sufficient for the basic growth of the coffee seedlings before they are transplanted to the garden at the age of one month.

We added compost, a black soil that is fertile enough to support the growth of the coffee seedlings. The seeds in these polybags are coffee seedlings that are 1-2 weeks old or older.

These grown coffee seedlings appear to have developed a main stem and several layers of leaves. The most important part of the initial process of sowing these coffee seeds is watering them so that the coffee beans quickly sprout and slowly grow stems and leaves.

The water absorbed into the soil will make it fertile and accelerate the formation of seedlings from the coffee seeds we sowed in polybags. After a month, we will transplant these coffee seedlings to the garden, hopefully, they will thrive and produce a lot of coffee beans.

Pada postingan ini saya ingin berbagi postingan tentang aktivitas berkebun. Kami memiliki lahan kebun yang masih kosong, kebun tersebut rencananya akan ditanami kopi.

Untuk menghemat biaya, kami menyemai bibit kopi secara mandiri di depan rumah. Karena didepan rumah terdapat area lahan kosong yang bisa digunakan untuk tempat menyemai bibit kopi.

Area yang dipilih adalah area yang tidak langsung terkena kontak sinat matahari, terdapat beberapa tanaman besar lainnya sebagai pelindung. Tetapi, area ini jangan sampai menutupi aliran air hujan, jika sewaktu-waktu turun hujan.

Kami telah memilih beberapa biji kopi yang akan disemai, biji kopi ini merupakan biji-biji kopi pilihan yang kami petik langsung dari beberapa pohon kopi di kebun kami. Ini merupakan jenis biji kopi Arabika, biji pilihan yang diseleksi dengan cara melihat ukuran dan bentuk biji kopi.

Ukuran yang besar dan bentuk biji yang bulat lonjong sempurna adalah yang jenis biji kopi paling utama yang digunakan untuk disemai. Biji-biji kopi ini telah dikupas kulit dasar bagian luar yang berwarna merah dan kemudian dijemur sampai benar-benar kering.

Setelah kering, biji kopi ini juga harus terlebih dahulu dikupas kulit coklatnya hingga tersisa hanyalah biji utama kopi berwarna hijau tua. Biji kopi utama yang telah dijemur adalah berwarna hijau, biji inilah yang akan digunakan untuk disemai kedalam polibag.

Ada ratusan biji kopi yang harus kami kupas kulit yang berwarna coklat muda, sebagiannya nanti akan kami roasting untuk dijadikan bubuk kopi. Sementara sisanya dengan bentuk biji terbaik dan berkualitas akan kami semai untuk bibit kopi.

Kami menyemainya menggunakan ke dalam polibag plastik yang telah kami beli di pasar. Tempat penyemaian bibit kopi dari plastik berwarna hitam ini berukuran 7,5x15 cm, dengan diameter 7,5 cm dan tinggi 15 cm, ukuran ini bisa muat untuk pertumbuhan dasar bibit kopi sebelum nantinya akan dipindah pada usia 1 bulan kelahan kebun.

Kami telah memasukkan tanah kompos, tanahnya berwarna hitam, sehingga ini cukup subur untuk mendukung pertumbuhan bibit kopi. Yang ada di polibag ini adalah bibit kopi yang telah tumbuh dengan usia 1-2 minggu lebih.

Bibit kopi yang telah tumbuh ini tampak telah memiliki batang utama dan mengeluarkan beberapa tingkat daun. Yang terpenting dari proses awal dari penyemaian biji kopi ini adalah penyiraman air agar biji kopi cepat mengeluarkan kecambah dan tumbub perlahan mengeluarkan batang dan daun.

Air yang menyerap ketanah akan membuatnya menjadi subur dan mempercepat pembentukan kecambah dari biji kopi yang kami semai didalam polibag. Jika telah berusia lebih dari satu bulan, kami akan memindahkan bibit kopi ini ke lahan kebun, semoga mereka akan tumbuh subur dan menghasilkan biji kopi yang banyak.
