Stats for the Communities - Peak Open Projects Update #11 (Communities Interface)
We have some stats for communities available for websites and users.
- If you're a user there is an interface at https://hivehub.dev/stats/communities
- If you're a Hive App we encourage you to use the open source code and/or API to integrate into your site
Expanding the Horizons: Hive Stats Now Include Hive Communities
Greetings Hive Community! It's time for another exciting update on our continuous effort to enhance the Hive experience. If you remember our latest update, you'll recall that we made several statistical insights about our blockchain activities available to you. Yet, we believe in pushing boundaries, and that's why we've decided to take it a step further.
As many of you already know, our statistics page module on the Hivehub platform is a treasure trove of valuable data concerning the Hive blockchain ecosystem. It provides access to metrics related to the various operations occurring within the blockchain, making it a vital resource for our community.
However, we identified a remaining hurdle to overcome. Our focus was to empower not just the overall ecosystem, but also the individual projects within it - our vibrant communities. We understood that these communities, being the heart of our hive, also need to access their own metrics.
And so, we're thrilled to announce that Hive Stats now includes statistics for Hive Communities. This means projects will be able to track their performance and growth, making Hive even more transparent and data-driven.
A quick reminder to everyone: These projects are open-source. While we maintain many of them on hivehub.dev, they are freely available for use by other websites. We welcome and encourage collaboration with other developers. If you're interested in integrating these tools into your project, or even if you have ideas for expanding the codebase, please reach out to us. Let's work together to keep enhancing Hive for everyone!

We would like to introduce you to the metrics interface for communities within Hivehub, which have different particularities that most probably many projects within Hive will find interesting:
Communities Table
Now you can access a wide range of information through the communities table, which has two modalities:
Lifetime Data
In this mode you can obtain the data of all the communities you have obtained since it were created, among the corresponding metrics are the number of Subscribers, Posts, Comments and Payments (from Posts and Comments in total) in global HBD from the date of creation to date.
Time-specific metrics
In this mode you can obtain data from all communities but in a Last day, Last 7 days or Last 30 days format to obtain slightly more specific metrics, among the metrics available in these formats we have: Number of subscribers (new subscribers - people who unsubscribe), Post Created, Comments Created and HBD Payments (adding HBD rewards of Post and Comments) received in the amount of time selected in the chart.
Last Day Data
Last 7 Days Data
Last 30 Days Data
Individual Community Page
Then, you will have the ability to click on a specific community to access a specific information page for the selected community and in this interface we can obtain much more advanced data about that community, among the metrics available are:
The Community Owner Account and the Creation Date of it
Total Subscribers (including an average of the last 30 days and a Lifetime Avg per day)
Total Posts (including an average of the last 30 days)
Total Comments (including an average of the last 30 days)
Post Authors (Last 30 Days)
Comment Authors (Last 30 Days)
Post and Comments Payouts (in HBD, Lifetime)
But you will also have the possibility to access other specific community metrics:
Subscribers Metrics
As the name suggests, you will be able to monitor the change in the number of subscribers with a detailed data table in different formats: daily, weekly, monthly and yearly in order to measure the acceptance you have had over time since the creation of the community.
Posts Metrics
In the Post Metrics section we have 2 possibilities to see the statistics about posts of the selected community:
Comments Metrics
In the same way as you can access metrics on posts, there is also the possibility of obtaining metrics on the comments of the selected community in the same format: daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.
Among the diverse data that can be obtained through these metrics are the following:
In the same way as in the Posts section, you can scroll down and see the data table with detailed information about the selected metric.
Payouts Metrics
In the same way as you can access metrics on posts or comments, there is also the possibility of obtaining metrics on the payouts of the selected community in the same format: daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.
Among the diverse data that can be obtained through these metrics are the following:
All the data in these charts have their cumulative values over time, but separated by topics (posts, comments), in the total payouts chart is where you can see the total amount of money that has been generated in the community through the payments mentioned above.
Backend statistical platform
On the backend, Hive Open Stats works as a statistical platform that provides an API to any frontends and apps that have a use for statistical data about Hive and its apps. While anyone can spin up their own instance of this platform, we provide an instance to the community, available at: https://stats.hivehub.dev/docs/
Share to us what you think
We'd love to see how the Hive community will utilize the various project that we are working on Peak Open Projects. Various users will likely be interested in different stats and will think of different use-cases and analysis. If you decide to make a post or analysis utilizing Hive Open Stats for Communities, we'd greatly appreciate it if you can tag us or share it with us on discord.
It would be awesome to see how the community will be able to use the Hive stats that we've been collecting and it will also help us to understand better what more we can do for the community.
We are looking forward to hearing from you!
