Japanese garden "Mu-shin" (Lešná, CZ)

Zoos are not only about animals. The Zoo of Zlín also has a rich botanical collection and tries to combine the animal exhibits with the corresponding plants (if possible).

There is also a typical Japanese garden near the Asian exhibition. It is designed as a dry, rocky mountain garden.

Japanese gardens are characterized by moderation and orderliness. Therefore, there is not a great variety of plants, but everything is neat. Three hundred-year-old pine trees (imported from Japan) dominate the garden. One of them at the entrance has a distinctive side branch that seems to shake the visitor's hand and welcome him.

With more than 1000 m², this Japanese garden is the largest of its kind in the Czech Republic. And what does its name Mu-Shin mean? Translated, it means "out of mind" or "without thought". It implies that the visitor should let go of everyday worries, not think about work, but relax physically and mentally and maybe even gain some energy.
