Reaching the midway camp—
We took our first break after walking for about 30 minutes and after resting for about 10 minutes we continued our journey. There was cliff on one side of the trail and mountain on the other side. It looked like trail to the heaven and we were walking on it. We wondered how heavenly it would be to be on the top of this peak.
We reached at the only camp on the way to the peak in a couple minutes. It is on such a perfect location that you’ll surely get mesmerised while living here. The Tibetan flags, deodar trees and awesome views. It was a perfect dream getaway!!!
I’m still confused to see a scooter over here!!! I wondered how it could possibly reach here considering all the stairs that we climbed to reach here. I think there has to be another way that’s suitable for scooty to come but I couldn’t find it and this remains a mystery to me.
I loved how the trees were not cut down for making the trail but instead the trail is made through the trees. I was really liking how the organisation was taking a good care of this area.
We found a shortcut that connected the trail at a much high elevation. We decided to take that shortcut as it would save us a lot of time rather than walking through the trail that elevated very slowly.
In spite of being a steep trail, we climbed the trail to reach to this beautiful spot that had a single tree on the side of the trail. It was looking so beautiful and I couldn’t resist taking a picture of myself there.
We couldn’t see much farther away because of fog but inspite of that we loved being there. We wondered how it would look if it would have been clear.
Reaching the summit—
After hiking for another 15-20 minutes we were about to reach the summit. The trees started to clear up and the terrain turned rocky. There was cool mountain breeze flowing there and I was slowly getting that same of feeling of being on top of the mountain that I live for but this time that feeling was not associated with tiredness like it used to be in most other treks.
I would certainly say that this is the easiest trek I’ve ever done. It was like a regular morning/ evening walk that I usually do when I’m home but it offered some really great views.
The fog was also clearing up slowly now and we could see houses down in the valley. We were exited to be on the top now to see down from there. There was only a little cliff left to climb now to reach to the summit.
Here we were!!! We reached the top of the George Everest we were feelers like we were on the Mount Everest now but later we realised that Mount Everest is 6 km taller than this peak 😅 and just considered ourselves on George Everest only.
We did a little photography session of the top as it was getting clearer now. There were many Tibetan flags on the top of this peak that enhanced its beauty further.
We spent around an hour on the top and embraced the beauty of the mountains around us. Sitting peacefully on the top of a mountain is sometimes more peaceful than anything else’s you can witness. So we gave us that time and enjoyed ourselves.
As it was almost clear now, we saw a beautiful village down in the valley. We could also see some adjacent mountains now. We could also see blue sky behind a thin layer of fog but we couldn’t wait there on the top for it to clear up completely so we started with our descent after an hour.
We reached at the Park house in 30 minutes. We spent another hour there and headed back to Mussoorie town.
