We were invited to breakfast and there was a lake. Need I say more?

A Dad with his little one here in this touching picture.

Marian's aunt invited us to breakfast and my camera suggested that I should take him for a walk at the lake, while we leave the ladies to chat. Only for a quick walk mind you, as I am a well mannered person and didn't want the ladies to wait, so I was back in an hour :)
Come and see what I got.

Now before you look at the next photo what do you think this youngster is?

There he is behind his mother and it is a Moorhen.

The Coot dad's love was so nice to see that I had to place this photo as well. Only the males have the two red knobs on their heads. That's why they are called Red-knobbed Coots.

The Coots are well known for their racing across the water, and here is one in action.

I have some more photos for another post of some other birds, but for now this one will do. The green algae on the water is a problem in our country as it is fed down by the rivers and the stuff grows and chokes the water of oxygen. In my younger days we never saw this green stuff, and I will have to do a bit of research as to its origin.
In the meantime, our trees are also being killed by what they call a foreign beetle called a Borer beetle. They seem to go especially for the old Oak trees and they bore holes into the tree, then they lay their eggs inside and the beetles secrete a fungi for the larvae to eat, and this fungi kills the trees.
Our researchers are hard at work to solve the issue, and lets hope they have success.

And That's All Friends.
