6 months ago on my daugter Eden's visit to South Africa, she visited a magnificent restaurant and she has been talking to me about it and saying how much she wanted to take me there.

Today we landed there after an experience at the Elephant Sanctuary- (I never expected to be back in South Africa this soon after her last visit)- she arranged an outing with Emma and my cousins John and Flavia to visit the Elephant Sanctuary to be followed by a lunch at Almost Orange

We entered the sanctuary and were amazed at the number of mango trees. We all love mangoes, so this was like heaven.

What a magnificent outing we had - learning so much about elephants, feeding them and even touching all parts of their bodies - from the trunk to underneath their feet and their ears all very unusual and different textures. We also learned about their sets of teeth and how they live to a long age as long as their teeth are functioning. They eat as much as 360 kgs of food per day and drink enormous amounts of water.

After this great experience we had a cappuccino and then headed for part 2 of the adventure.

We arrived at the restaurant set in an orange orchard called Almost Orange

Superb platters with everything one could dream of. Delicious lamb chops, underdone roast beef, smoked chicken, variety of dips and cheeses - and finally a dessert with treats like turkish delight ice-cream, portuguese orange cake and creme brulee.

This was truly an outing to remember - definitely one to add to special memories.
