Greetings community, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, for my part I enjoy participating in the proposals that every week @galenkp offers us in the Engagement.

This week the topics are about choices and that is always difficult, in my case generally each choice depends on many factors and conditions, both inherent to the environment and to my person. However, choosing between professional success and my personal happiness does not make me think without a doubt I choose my personal happiness.

For me the greatest thing we could aspire to in life is to be happy, that implies feeling good about oneself, to be in harmony with ourselves and enjoy what is truly meaningful: family, interpersonal relationships, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc., nature, in short, to fully enjoy what life has to offer.

Professional success for me can be fleeting, getting job recognition for achieving work goals or certain economic stability, putting at risk the enjoyment of the family or not living significant moments, is not in my pattern of life.

Both things really don't have to be at odds, but in many occasions it requires choices and that's where what is really important and makes you happy comes in.

I have met people who give up a home, have their children etc. because their priority is the result of some research and that is their happiness.

Also friends who have achieved great professional success and today wonder if it was worth it, because they are retired and live thanks to the support of their children to whom they did not spend time and missed the laughter and tears of their childhood, among many other things.

In my case, there is nothing more important than my family.

When I was very young I dedicated a lot to work, and I learned from everything I witnessed, that all work successes are transient and almost always too costly.

I quit my job as a university professor, did not accept jobs abroad and other proposals that might sound tempting, but were not healthy for family stability.

Having always been close to my loved ones in good times and bad, fills me with joy and inner peace, I am very grateful to life for filling me and allowing me to enjoy all the little things that make me happy.

That is why we have to be able to know what makes us fulfilled and feel satisfied, that is the best choice.
