Newbies initiative task three: hive keys

The stars are shining bright, the weather is perfect, the moon has blessed everything with it's beautiful light, the air is soft and moist with the crickets singing it's wonderful song to our hearing.

Everything was crowned with a beautiful queen for a partner called @omotife who is a Yoruba damsel.

We had the usual Sunday meeting which came with educative materials about hive keys. @depressedfuckup was the one who stood at the war front, explaining war tactics needed to fight against our hive account being hacked by safeguarding our keys appropriately. He explained hive keys and it's uses as well as ways to store them in details.

The meeting was indeed a very educative one as it made me be a more knowledgeable soldier and get skills needed to combat the enemy - scammers from getting to my hive keys.

If I noticed that my partner unknowingly dropped their keys on discord or any other place that is not safe, I will do the following:

First of, I will immediately call her attention to it and enquire wether or not she did it on purpose. I will also tell her to delete it ASAP and make sure that there is no trace of it anywhere.

Next, I will ask her to power up all her liquid hive, and also buy hive with her HBD and also power them up so that it wouldn't be easy for any transfers.

Next, I will ask her to change her keys using the following methods:

First of all, using peakd, click on where the arrow is pointing.

Click on keys and permission.

Click on change password

Click in the box and enter your private owner key then generate key.

After she change her keys, I will ask her to look out for any unrecognized power downs and stop it immediately.

After all the drama of changing her keys, I will make sure to properly educate her on ways of keeping her keys safe.

I will her to always be very strict with her keys.

Next I will ask her to save her keys in a privately secluded area, either her diary or any place she alone has access to but I will not recommend her saving it online.

Next, I will ask her to always look at her wallet if there is any activity she don't recognize that came after her keys was leaked and stop it immediately.

Next I will ask her not to click in any unrecognized links she sees on social media, not even discord, WhatsApp, Facebook, et cetera.

If my partner don't understand the use of each key, I will try my best to lecture her on the keys and it's uses. The keys includes:

The master password

The private active key

The private posting key

The memo key

The owner key

The master key: This is another important key as it is used to recover missing keys.

The private active key: This key is basically for the wallets. It is used to sign monetary transactions and it is required when you want to transfer from your wallet to other wallet, it is also used when you want to power up or down.

The private posting key: This is another type of key used for the non-transfer transactions example, posting, reblog, commenting, muting an account, up or down voting, and to follow another account.

The memo key: This key is used to read or send encrypted messages.

The owners key: This key is very important as it is used to generate new keys for your account. When you think you've been attacked by a scammer, the owner key is used to reset your keys into new ones

It is very important to understand that the keys are like eggs and to be handled with utmost care.
