My two cents worth

Back in 2018 my Son-In-Common-Law and Daughter were gifted steem accounts, by me, with some crypto to power them up. My Daughter used her blog during a period of working on some graphics for @dlux' site at
. You can find the graphics from that period on her blog at @flora-francis.My Son-In-Common-Law never really warmed to the blockchain nor posted anything from his account, @etriusquill.
My Daughter's STEEM/HIVE found another home after the fork and she is more active on instagram these days. @etriusquill may not even have been aware of the fork and his gifted HIVE remained, still, in his wallet.
When this was brought to his attention over a week ago he asked me if his HIVE was of any interest to me. Having gotten more active of late, on the blockchain, his HIVE was of interest to me. It was explained to him that we could not do a fiat/HIVE swap unless one of us was a broker, yet as a landlord; and more specifically his landlord; he could use it to pay his rent.
Finally HIVE got his attention.
We had a number of chuckles over the next week or so as HIVE finally started to respond to the BTC bull run. He would put off rent payment for a number of reasons. It became a running gag. It continued past the end of month until today.
HIVE has risen from about $0.42CAD to $0.60CAD in that time. It was around $0.52CAD when we settled tonight. He was pleased and it had been a lot of giggles for me.
Once transfered it was quickly powered up and pointed to @optnotten' blog. There was a new post awaiting me. The upvote target was hit with 100% of my new and improved 1329 Hive Power.
Boing Boing!
There was a time before the fork when you might find me swimming with those mammal-ly fish, the Dolphins. Since then it has been a long period of not being able to rub two cents together when upvoting a post. Yet when upvoting @optnotten my rental transaction had given me my two cents worth again!
One small cent for mankind, two giant leaps for this lowly Minnow
