Ore and I are siblings of the same father and the same mother. We never lived together from on set because I stayed with our grandma for over 10years of my life while Ore lived with our parents but when the time came, I went back to our parents and that was how we started living together.

[Ore & I]

Although, we are family of seven which means five children plus our dad and mum. We are different in many ways but one or two things we do together such as playing football and watching wrestling. As time goes on, life happened to us and we lost our father which changed the tragectory of our lives. Mum traveled somewhere else with other siblings but Ore and I stayed together as strangers.

We cooked together but eat differently, we do things differently, have different mindset but I am older than he his. So as an older brother, I will give him instructions but he will not follow it or carry it out, "get this done before I get back" by the time I get back, he will not get it done. Anyone in the Yoruba culture knows that once you told someone something three times, be it instruction, advice or whatever it is once it is not followed, consequences tend to follow. Which is what happened next.

So one of these days I gave him an instruction not to do something but has usual he did not follow it which made me had different questions in my head such has: what have I done to deserve this disrespect from him?, is there a secret he knows about me that made him have the right to disregard my instructions?, is there anyone teaching him to turn his back against me by not carrying out my instructions? etc these and a whole lots more were in my head. This brought up a serious anger in me knowing fully well that the answers to the questions is NO and I slapped him because I could not control my emotions any longer in my rage, dragged him into the room and I locked the door behind that since his a male and I am a male too, let us engage in boxing. Lets see who will win and I know he cannot touch me because I am older than he his. The Yoruba culture allows the older brother be respected in every situation unless threat to life and going back to the fight we had, I won. The reason of this fight was to show him I am older, I must be respected and my instructions should be carried out.

Later on, I regretted my action because I really felt I shouldn't have fought with him but I later apologized and in case you will like to know, this incident happened about ten years ago.

We are now cool because we have evolved, stayed together more, learnt things more, understood each other more, loved each other more and that was the only incident we had that involved a physical fight. Funny how, we are still living together.

This is my response to day 6 #mayinleo prompt.
