New Ska vs Drum & Bass Remix Coming Up on 5th June!

It was an unexpected surprise when Roel, from the ska band SPAWN (@spawnband), reached out to me around December 2019 and asked if I would be interested in attempting a remix of one of their tracks from their album “Spawntaneous”. They gave me free reign to choose a track and the one that stood out to me was one called "Skallegro".

So, fast forward months and months due to Captain Snail (aka me) and I managed to get around to working on this exciting challenge! As you can hear, the original is a "tale of two halves" with a gentle guitar melody and soulful trumpets overlaying a smooth bassline before accelerating in to hyperdrive for the second half in true ska fashion!

My mission was to turn this into a Liquid Drum & Bass remix and as always, I like to keep as much of the original elements in as possible. You're just going to have to wait one more week to find out how it sounds when the official release on Electronic Alliance Records on 5th June!

Buuuut I may have a sneaky preview for you before then so keep your eyes peeled for it in the week. In the meantime, enjoy the awesome original from SPAWN here:
