The Tsilkani cathedral of the Mother of God is built in IV century by king Bakar, he was son of the first Christian king Mirian. It s located in the village of Tsilkani. Its 15 km from Mtskheta.
A hall church, the cathedral was remade into a 3-nave basilica in the 5th or 6th century and, reconstructed as a domed church in the 12th or 13th century.
I can say taht this church is one of oldest in Georgia.
I dont know why but Tsilkani is forggoten village, but trust me if you are visiting Georgia you should see this church.
