La procesion que se realiza por el día de San Benito de Palermo en Cabimas, municipio donde vivimos es un poco diferente al resto de los lugares donde se conmemora ésta fecha, es una locura total mayormente 🤭, Jejeje.

Claro, también se hace la misa antes de comenzar la procesión, sin embargo cuando el santo sale de la iglesia comienza la locura, grupos que se encargan de cargar la figura del santo cada año, se pelean por llevarlo, algunos jóvenes bien característicos con los cabellos amarillos, otros con sus uniformes, en fin, es el primer choque de titanes Jejeje.

La procesion no es cualquier recorrido, son kilómetros de camino desde la iglesia donde literalmente vive el santo, hasta el otro extremo de nuestro municipio, varia según la fecha puede ser el norte o el sur de la ciudad, no es fácil aguantar ese trote, Jejeje, en lo personal son tradiciones católicas que compartimos en la familia, pero que algunas cosas no están del todo bien, sin embargo en está oportunidad fui con mi esposo, y mayormente estuvimos debajo de un árbol esperando que pasara el santo, y detrás los más de 20 grupos de chimbangles que mueven con el golpe de sus tambores hasta al que no sabe bailar 💃.

Siempre comento que en nuestro municipio no tenemos hermosos paisajes, ni grandes centros comerciales, pero si muchas tradiciones, buena comida, más su gente que vive el día a día como puede, pero alegre.

Mientras esperamos que pasara el santo, nos tomamos fotografías con algunos trans que se disfrazan cada año, realmente bien llamativos, tomamos fotografías para el recuerdo.

San Benito no era alcohólico, pero los cabimenses suelen agregarle botellones de ron hasta más no poder, no deberían, no es una tradición que se tenga que relacionar con éste Santo, pero pasa cada año, lo que también conlleva a muchas personas pasadas de tragos. Por otro lado para los creyentes, llevar a los niños o a los enfermos a la procesión también es una tradición, para pedir por la salud con mucha fé.

La pasamos super chévere, cada año que vamos es una experiencia única, nos reímos mucho con los disfrazados, compartimos con parte de la familia de mi esposo que viven por una parte de la ruta de la procesion, fue un día de mucho sol, calor intenso, tomamos varias cervezas, los chimbangleros con sus tambores ponen a bailar a todos. Que siga bailando San Benito tanto el 27 de diciembre como el 6 de enero.
