My response to the @Indiaunited Contest -

It's been 8.5 years on hive and now I really feel old here, not only here but I am seeing myself also getting old with Hive. A few years back when I had to give advice to new comers on Hive they were different then what I will like to give now. Not completely different but with time things change and your views also. No matter whatever tips you get from old Hivers on the platform, one thing is very important for a long term sustenance and that is one should have a liking of writing. If one does not have that then the journey ends soon or becomes very inconsistent.

These are some of my tips for the New Hive users.

Build a strong base - When someone joins new, they do not know anyone, so at that point of time more then focusing on the rewards one must focus on engagement and being seen and heard. For that community contest participation is very good platform and then being regular on it matters. Volunteering for community initiatives sometimes is another good way of increasing network. For the first 3 months, the whole focus should be on building the network and setting a strong foundation. Of course you cannot overlook the rewards part, but you will only get rewards if you will be noticed. I myself support many new Hivers with low HP. On the community contest, I do vote for many posts whose earnings are less then a $. It is not only me who does that but many old time Hivers do that. Visit others posts and comment on them, get yourself noticed as much as possible.

Key takeaway - The foundation should be so strong that even without enough HP balance your absence should be noticed.

Be Consistent - If you come to the platform as a visitor, people will treat you like a guest but if you come here as a co-owner of this house, people will treat you like family. Connections are real here, even if you do not get to meet or see people. I have met quite a few of Hive people in the fest and couple of them in my country and all of them are just like me. Everyone has one goal which is to succeed here. So if you are here regular then you will have good support from one another. But if you come once in a while, write and leave and expect your rewards to go up then that will not happen.

Key takeaway - No matter what, show up every single day, if not with your blog then with your comments

Be original - Write on topics you understand well and can relate with completely. You may see some people writing on crypto markets, sharing trends and analysis and earning good rewards on that. But if that's not your subject then do not try to imitate. There is a place for every topic here, and if you write well on it, success will follow.

Key Takeaway - Write from your heart

Do not get influenced This is something very important I believe. When we read other people's post comments, sometimes there are some arguments in it. Do not get influenced by those discussions. Also on Discord channels when you communicate everyone shares their view point, listen to it but do not get absorbed in it. Whatever one experiences here is their journey and not your journey, so do not let other people experiences influence you in your journey.

Key takeaway - Your journey you need to be in control of it

These are some of the practices I feel are very important for New Hive users. Be real, be genuine with yourself and others and have patience. Once you settle in well, success will follow. Some may get more rewards and some may get less, it all depends on the efforts.

Final advice - Keep a long term goal and not a short term vision. This is not a get rich quick scheme.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
